One Pass Elite status Errors - 2nd time posted
I posted this topic earlier today, and it was somehow "removed". I hope that was due to what might be a mildly unfortunate choice of words on my part, and not the content. I'll try again.
A friend e-mailed me to say that he received notice from CO that he would be Gold Elite this year. Last year, he only made it to what would have been Bronze, so he was expecting a bump only to the new Silver level.
My Wife was Bronze last year through a special complimentary promotion. She flew a whopping 1,876 miles (2 segments) on paid travel last year. She just received her Silver Elite package in the mail for 1999.
I think something is messed-up here....

Be careful what you wish for as EVERYONE might get it. Imagine the elite lineups and the inavailability of upgrades etc. etc.

NJD: I think you may be on to something here, my wife and I both received e-mails from CO last week advising of our 1999 status:
Mine was Gold, which is fine.
Simone's was Gold, she flew 1,695 with CO last year! Unless she is being comped because of me - which they have never done before - something sure is wrong!

Maybe the One Pass comps are for spouses of Frequent Flyers???
Maybe Co's trying to get more spouces of elites to fly CO exclusively. OR Co's being generous for winning the Freddies!
Two courses to take:
1. Call CO and while not mentioning your name say "I have this friend whose wife got upgraded from Bronze to Silver." That's not really a LIE but it's an indirect reference.
2.Say nothing. CATMAN
