Plus i believe the 20th one is still in the shop getting it's overhaul... so they are really running on 19.

In the winter we may see IAH-EZE on a 777 once a week as well, but we'll see...

IAH/EWR-LHR
IAH/EWR-CDG
IAH-CDG is no longer a 777 route, but a 764 route since April 2009. At the same time IAH-AMS became a 777 route.

I hope when CO gets more 777's/787s, we might see some of them flying appropriate domestic routes again. Would be cool to get EUAed on one of them! (esp. if it turns out to be the upgraded BF seats!)

Good job, Mike. There are 2 777s used on each city pair -- one outbound, one inbound.

Maybe out of EWR, if there's time to do a quick turn before they're sent back out across the pond. There's 8 more on order.

Just like when CO received its first 777s, it is logical to assume that CO will run tht 787s IAH-EWR-IAH for a few months so that the pilots can 'practice' and get the feel of the new equipment.

Thanks. I'll take Honorable Mention.

IIRC some of those eight jets on order are build options that can be another version of 777 or converted to 787. It's well-known that CO doesn't do subfleets, but I do remember an aircraft acquisition thread some time ago in which it was said that if CO ever bought 77W's the perfect route to put them on if they only had to pick one was EWR-TLV.

A record?

This must be a FT record for time between posts. Jan '99 to June '09...10 years, 5 months! Wow!

CO used to run these regularly between EWR / IAH to reposition for the long hauls. I have flown many a time back in the early 00s between those two on the 777 in the nice BF seats. Also IIRC, it was occasionally used on LAX runs from IAH. Not much of either any longer.

The IAH-LAX 772 flights were run for crew familiarization, according to those who were around at the time. EWR-IAH are still run as longhaul repositions when the aircraft does need to be moved.

My understanding is these are converted 737 orders because the 78's are delayed. According to the Boeing website, CO still has 37 737-700s on order.
