what's waitlist priority?

what's waitlist priority?
Hi, can anyone please tell me what "waitlist priority" is....Whatever this "benefit" is, I want to take full advantage of it as an elite........

For an award, if the class you're looking for isn't available, you can waitlist for it.
As an Elite, you will beat out a general member for positioning.
This is quite handly if trying to book say a BF itin, and maybe one domestic segment isn't available in F, but is available in Y. Simply confirm the Y, and ask to get waitlisted for F.
Note: This only works for CO-operated flights.
