How Long does it take for regional upgrade to be pulled?

Sorry if this has been asked before - but how long does it take for regional upgrades to be pulled after you use them? Do they get pulled when the upgrade clears or when the plane actually flies? It's been about 2 days since I used one (I fly today) and just trying to see if it's normal for it not to have been removed yet. I have also booked award tickets since then and the miles for those get pulled instantly and show up on my account instantly as well.

Should be pulled immediately when applied.

Keep quiet and enjoy the freebie.

It usually gets pulled the day I apply it -- that is actually pretty strange (atleast for me). How did you apply the regional? Online? via a rep?

On CO.com you can see the balance change in almost real-time by applying a Regional upgrade to a reservation with R availability (the balance of upgrades available goes down by one) or changing a flight with an upgrade already applied to a flight with no upgrade space avalable, which in effect removes the upgrade (and causes the balance to go up by one). I discovered this by chance two weeks ago when changing a reservation for a traveling companion who I had upgraded as a special treat.
