Will EQMs Be Counted on All Segments of a "Through Flight?"
Hi all,
I will be traveling on CO flight 4 MSY-IAH-LHR. However, my itinerary only states that 4630 miles will be accrued since it is listed as MSY-LHR.
However, in your recent experiences with CO, will the CO systems give me credit for MSY-IAH (500 miles), then IAH-LHR (4834 miles). This is how it usually works on other airlines. I never had a "through" flight segment before, so any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

The responses to the post from justsomeguy, titled "Crediting of EQS for a direct flight" explains why direct flights on CO give less than total segment mileage.

You will get the lesser. The 500 minimum does not apply on a through flight.

I'm on 1678 today Sat-(IAH)-ewr. I called yesterday and the agent 'split' it into two segments with the same flight number, specifically so I'd get the miles. Whether or not that works remains to be seen, but it may be worth a call.

I had my sat-iah-phl split into two segments with the same flight number and got the 500 min miles for sat-iah and the normal 1324 for iah-phl so it does work.

Last thing, as a newby on CO/UA, if I fly a route that is only 300 miles, they will still award me 500 EQMs, right? Thanks again!

But if I interpet UA forum correctly, UA flights get the 500 mile minimum. So, now that we're one big happy family ....
Pretty sure my DFW-SFO-NRT posted combined miles instead of lesser combined when I flew UA on same flight number - alas as is so often the case, equipment change in SFO
