How to check in for return portion of same day trip?

I have a same day trip on CO, but I could only check in for the outbound so far. The return portion is within 24 hours but unlike UA.bomb, CO website does not show an option for additional flights. It keeps saying I have already checked in... Am I missing something? If not, when may I print out the return BP?

I have a short turn around time, so I would like to print out boarding passes in advance...

Thanks,
Teddy

I was in the same situation recently on a mileage run.

The outbound was HNL-LAX-IAH-ATL and the inbound was ATL-EWR-HNL.

I was in the 24-hour window for the inbound while I was in IAH, and no matter what I did I could not check in, because I think the system thought I was trying to check in for the IAH-ATL segment instead of the ATL-EWR segment.

As soon as I landed in ATL, I tried to check in again, and was successful, I was even able to REVUP the EWR-HNL segment

I had a same-day return on United in February, amd could not check-in for the return flight at the 24 hour mark. I asked the agent in the morning (outbound) flight for my return boarding pass, and got it that way.

No, you're not missing anything. But you can ask any agent you interact with to check you in for the return flights and print the BPs and they can do it for you.

Does the auto check-in option not work on a same day turn?

That's disappointing.

I know UA and DL will both let you check in for the return if you're within 24 hours of it and haven't yet flown the outbound.

On UA, you go to check in, and there is a link "View Additional Flights" that let you check in for the return.

On DL, you go to checkin and enter the confirmation code and departure city, and it lets you proceed.

Hopefully CO will adopt this in their quest to become the world's leading airline.

I did a same day ORD-CLE turn on CO yesterday. When I checked in online for the 7am the morning before the flight, CO.com said it would automatically check me in for the return at 7pm and email me the boarding pass. It worked exactly as promoted.
