copa upgrades ex-IAD?
i'm thinking booking a trip routing IAD >> PTY >> SJO and traveling with a non-elite companion. are CM's companion u/gs processed only on day of departure, like CO? i've never flown Copa before but from what i've been reading, U/Gs aren't that hard to score for Plats, apart from heading to MEX.
the alternate route i'm thinking of is DCA >>> IAH >>> SJO on CO.

Yes, the upgrade policies are the same on CM as on CO, including the priority of multi-passenger PNRs and the companion policy.
