I want to be able to:
A) Verify our status in the EUA queue ala "Upgrade: Pending" on UA
B) Learn how to monitor our place in the waitlist as we get closer to our travel date.
Is there a thread on this forum that can help me learn to do that?
Many thanks. My search brought up a gobbled mess of threads.

OK, well I found the FAQ section for complementary upgrades which is very helpful (sucks to be a companion on CO, BTW). But I haven't actually found out the answer to my two questions. I know I have read that CO has a "tool" to monitor your place in the waitlist but then again, based on our "companion" status it is probably a lost cause so I shouldn't even bother. LOL.

pda.continental.com is the mobile version.
There is no "upgrade pending" a la UA on CO. You can see your status online 2 days before your flight on the above sites.
Companions, as you know, can be added at the airport when your first segment with CO begins.
Just to clarify --
You are not able to see the EAU upgrade list at any time. The list at continental.com is the upgrade list order to be used by gate agents of passengers who have checked in. The upgrade list at any time earlier than T-24 will be empty except for a few exceptions. Even after T-24, if you are first on that list, there may be 20 people ahead of you who have not checked in yet.

Cool. Thank you!
Can phone agents see if you are on the upgrade list ahead of time?
Also, if we remain on the same PNR and Mr. Ericka is a Plat, is there any chance that we would clear together before the airport? Or do you always have to go to the battleground and get the companion added there?

Companion upgrade can only be done at airport.
If your significant other does not split the PNR he will not be visible at his EUA window. The lowest status person is the one that counts for joint reservations.
it might be worthwhile to split PNR if one of you want to have a good chance at the upgrade.

But thanks for the suggestion.Incidentally, on UA the companions have an opportunity to clear when the highest status person clears. We'll see what happens post merger.
