Now less than 72 hours so theoretically platinums and golds have already been upgraded. Still showing 3 available in F JFK-PTY and 2 PTY-BOG. Not optimistic, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

In my experience, Copa often clears elite upgrades at the airport bef
re departure rather than via EUA -- even when there are plenty of seats available to upgrade people into.

Called COPA and they said there's only one F seat left JFK-PTY and PTY-BOG (flightstats shows the same JFK-PTY flight three separate times, with 0, 1 or 4 seats open). So on hold now with CO now, going on 30 minutes, using miles to upgrade.

I am I think 6 for 6 as a Silver on Copa upgrades, but they are usually at the gate, or right before hand. Rarely emailed ahead of time. But, YMMV.

I got the last seats on both flights. I thought I had a good chance of the upgrade but based on flightstats I saw that it wasn't gonna happen, so I used 20,000 miles, but it's well worth it.
