I'd love to know who all these people are who are complaining about free drinks - please point them out to me. As long as it doesn't come at the expense of RCC's superior food offerings, no problem.

The more things change...

I will never complain about free drinks. But the idea that the RCC's food offerings are superior to anything is a truly frightening thought (unless you are referring to HKG or NRT) :(

No I haven't. Not saying it isn't true, just that it is a scary thought :(
One caveat: Breakfast is OK at the Presidents Club, with bagels, muffins, Nature Valley granola bars, cream cheese, OJ, etc. Once breakfast is over you're down to crackers, little packets of industrial cheese, "fun size" packages of Nutella, and, my favorite, heavily-waxed decorative apples, so heavily waxed that they could easily withstand a nuclear attack... |

So I guess they put out food that can't be eaten, just to taunt us? |

Ain't that the truth, brother.

Even US can swing cappuccino machines. Now that the RCC free drinks issue is behind us, hopefully with the merger, they can bring the CO PCs up to RCC standards. |

But I digress, this constant "UA is so much better than CO" line that you have been relentlessly expounding on, even in threads where it is neither needed nor wanted, is starting to grate on people. I guess what I am trying to say is, we get where you stand, however, at this point will you please give it a rest? |

Channa we get it. You think CO is deficient is some areas, and for the most part you are right. For example, AS has pancake machines, eggs, cappuccino machines, and an open bar. When CO + UA going to reach that standard?

After all, isn't FT supposed to be a free exchange of ideas regarding the frequent flier experience? Sometimes that means having to read points of view that may be grating to you... |

Why should he, as long as the points are valid and made without resorting to ad hominem attacks?

One can have the greatest ideas in the world, but if improperly expressed, the ideas become lost in a sea of well reasoned rebuttals and ad hominem replies. |

I guess what I am trying to say is, we get where you stand, however, at this point will you please give it a rest? Because the CEO is touting a "best of both worlds" position. Check free drinks off the list, that's done. Free internet as well, that's resolved. Now put some cappuccino machines and veggies in the CO clubs and we'll cross clubs off the list. There are positives on both sides and negatives on both sides. I think we all generally agree that CO BF food is better than the food in UA Business. Just like we'd all probably agree that we'd rather have hot nuts in a ramekin (UA) with cake for dessert (CO), linens on our tray table (UA), hot meals in Y (CO) better staffing at service centers and ticket counters (CO), better service recovery from CS (UA), and calls answered in the USA (CO). The entire point of this thread is that we "unite" together and come together with a unified position whenever possible. I support that concept. There are a lot of things we can all probably agree on. I mean, who doesn't want more SWUs (UA) with fewer restrictions (CO), and more SWUs for flying more (UA), with no StarNet blocking (CO) and better home metal award availability (UA)? Let's use factual data and point out the deficiencies on each and where we can stand to improve to influence what the new carrier should look like. Maybe then the management can take this board seriously instead of the CO love-fest it had become over the past few years. |
