Squeezing some Extra Miles
Is there any smart way I can 'upgrade' my fare from a M to B (on CO) or T to B (on UA) to get the 50% bonus without paying the 1000 dollars that is the difference between the two fares? I have a few upcoming CO and UA flights which will get me within a measly 300 miles of GES. One is a SEA-EWR CO flight on M basis tomorrow and a UA SEA-ORD (later next month) on a T. So I am hoping I can get those extra miles through the 50% bonus by somehow 'upgrading' one of those fares and avoid the inconvenience of a MR. Willing to pay say a couple hundred bucks. Suggestions?

If you get lucky and there's IRROPs, thereby rebooking you into full Y, then yeah... otherwise, I'd have to say cough up the bucks either way.
