Thoughts on Livery
Yes, another merger thread - apologies in advance.
With a reported impending merger and the extinguishing of one respectable brand, I think it would be a nice tribute to CO by placing the globe logo on UA tails.
Basically, use the same color scheme on the current aircraft with the same palette, replace the U/A tail with a globe.
Thoughts?

This is a special topic and it desires targeted discussion. The referenced thread is too general. If we have very specific titles and do not get too OT, then I think multiple targeted threads is good.
Then you read what is in your interest. Just my opinion.

I tend to agree. The wording on the initial thread refers to slogan, not necessary livery.

My thought is that they will just go with UA's current new livery. UA has about 3 that are currently flying.

I would love to see a post-merger hybrid livery that acknowledges the CO lineage, but I expect this merger will do to CO's brand what the DL-NW deal did to the NW brand... e.g., crush it like a bug and sweep it into history's dustbin. The resulting airline will look, feel and stink like United Airlines.

Some planes still have the previous battleship gray livery.
There are no UA planes flying with the livery previous to that, which was the tricolor cheatline livery:

Airlines paint planes all at the same rate of renewal. It has to do with the inspection process. Every _____ years the plane must be stripped to it's bare metal, inspected and is then repainted. Or at least this is what a seat mate who sells paint stripper to the airlines (seriously that was his job) told me. With a merger I personally think it's wasteful (environmentally, and bottom line cost) to rush this before it's needed as part of the inspection process. DL was very eager to paint the NWA 747's in its livery (though the inspection may have been do soon anyways).
