Hopefully no bad weather.
Last time I flew into IAH, we wound up getting diverted to an air force base!

Well, I do have a 31 minute conection at IAH. But if I miss mine, it will be a day in Houston and a lost day in Panama, LOL.

Los Angeles, CA (LAX) Arrive:
2:44 p.m.
Mon., May. 10, 2010
Houston, TX (IAH - Intercontinental)

If I miss my conection, there are no more flights to PTY until the next day.

I have a window seat 24F on the 757-200 from LAX-IAH. I can not get a better seat on the plane, as seats in front of mine are already taken, and only middle seats left. I have no status with CO and I am cheating on AAdvantage where I am EXPlat, LOL, as I am trying to get status with another alliance.
By the way, If I do not make it, will CO rebook me on next day flight without charging me? This is actually a mileage run trip and in between, I want to spend 3 days getting to know PTY, so getting there the next day is no big deal for me, that is why I am not worried.
Well, thanks for the advide.

There are a couple of threads that address the process. I'm not sure, but I think you could have it done by May 10th, if you go ahead and get started.
Also, if you don't get the match processed in time, and there are seats closer up to the front (in the elite zone), you can select one of those at OLCI.

@Carlitos -- why not go for the same-day standby for CO294 (departs LAX at 8:00 am) and give yourself extra 90 minutes in IAH? (Right now, showing F9, Y9, etc.)
If you're originating from LAX, it should be a win-win because you'll have a better chance of making the connection and beat most of the traffic to LAX (6:30-7am range vs 8-8:30am).
Generally -- I am a big fan of tight connections in IAH, but I wonder if my comrades who periodically post "will I make this connect" have already booked the tickets or just planning to? And, I wonder if anyone has been influenced in their booking decision based on the outcome of this advice?

About rush hour, I stay in Marina del Rey when in LAX, so the airport is really at close distance.
I am not planning on leaving AAdvantage, but as I am positive I will requal to EXPlat and more, I want to use that more on CO in order to have status in two alliances. Last time I was in China, I had to fly Star Alliance airlines inside China and had no status, as OW doesnt have a partner there.
Thanks for your advice.

(in your favor of course!)
