I am a gold member on virgin Atlantic, how would i go about obtaining a status match on All star alliance ff programs

As for status match on CO, simply fax your current VS statement and a head letter of application to CO. And then you should hear from CO pretty soon.

I have no problem getting status matched on any airline. They're all willing to match my no status.

Why would anyone want status match from every single Star partner?

The above thread is a good place to start when looking for information on a status match. As others have pointed out, it's not necessary to status match to all members of Star Alliance. Holding status in one will generally give you some perks across the entire Alliance.
