CO opens base at RNT.

There are now 5 CO 737s just parked at RNT. This can't be good.

They are likely a casualty of the Koito seat debacle.

Two 777s will be added to the queue soon. Officially waiting till Q3 for delivery, and seem that the Y seats may be the cause:

It's somewhat funny that the 'expert's over at A.net have a thread going on the delivery delays, and not a single one has yet to discover this issue with the seat manufacturer.

They're over there poking theories that CAL is having financial problems, and due to the economic slowdown they don't need the jets, etc.

The folks over here at FT are ahead of the curve on this one.....

I noticed that as well, they are overlooking the obvious for a dramatic story, maybe they are into evening news journalism.
The official fleet plan is clearly showing those 735s you mentioned coming back in as a stopgap as well, which someone there suggested was a typo for 753s....

However it seems the 753s are being allowed to come into service, so seems they are either exempt from the seat issue, or not using the Koito seats.

I don't think a.nut has ever seen the obvious answer on any issue. Those experts may just be 13 year olds. We're at least 16 here.

The 753s are not new, and they come with seats from ATA! The shortage is for new seats. There's no immediate recall on the existing ones.

I was not sure how much refurbishing was going on there, or how stripped any may/may not have been sitting in the desert. So that was really my only question there

I've read that they do get new fabrics over them.
