trying to modify a nutty trip. do WE still have to make the suggestions?

ive got a terrible trip booked. phx-syd-phx. im trying to modify it before the 21 days period.

in the ST days, we had to make all the hub suggestions, often times getting very creative by using mutiple carrier with multiple connections.

the agent yesterday told me the new system does all the work. i specifically asked about all of the asian carriers i could use and he said he checked all of them.

i find that hard to believe as it took hours of searching and creativity for the original agent to make my res. now this guy checks all airilines, in all classes of service, for a wide range of dates in 45 seconds.

should i keep calling until i get one of those awesome agents who check far and wide for seats or is the new system really that great?

best if you use the ANA tool to come up with ideas and feed the ideas to THEM.

The software is way better than CO's manual searching of the ST days.

But the software doesn't always find everything. If you've found something, by all means, suggest it to the agent.

I had a hard time getting a flight back from AUA on a holiday. There was stuff out there, but with a forced overnight. The computer doesn't find that stuff too well, but once I proposed it, the agent broke up the search and found it too.

Yes. That's the secret.

The agent can search between Dest 1 and Dest 2 and come up with a variety of options but if both segments don't have availability it comes back as no bueno.

What it fails to consider is you can get from Dest. 1 to Hub on one carrier and Hub to Dest 2 on another.
