Continental refund
Hello all,
I need help with getting a refund on a non refundable ticket. Basically I (my family) bought three tickets to Italy last January for a trip in July of 09'. We had to cancel and did not have insurance. So we have about $4000 sitting in an account with Continental that we can only use to book new flights before Jan 31st of 2010. I was sorta told by an agent that the tickets are non refundable but if we book the new flights that are cheaper they will give us travel certificates for the balance. These certificates are transferable for the face value. Basically we need to pay the change fee, (not sure of that amount) and then these certificates now have a value. These could then be sold at face value (our case, to my very worldly traveled cousin) So I was wondering if anybody has ever done this? Sorry for the long post.
Thank you
Nick,Julie,Ryder and Sharon

Welcome to FT, all!
You'll probably get more and better answers, perhaps even find an existing thread or two on this topic, in the Continental Airlines forum. You posted it in an area for gatherings, congratulations, and other community-related topics. Many of our experts on Continental aren't interested in those things and therefore never visit this forum.
Since your question is specifically about CO, don't be surprised if a moderator moves it.
(With well over 200,000 members and 12 million posts, having focused forums for different topics and keeping things in the right place is the only way FT can avoid total chaos.)

As Efrem suggested above, we'll move this thread to the Continental Airlines forum for a quicker reponse.
