Newark Concourse C Dining Help
I've tried to find a good place to have lunch before a CO flight in Concourse C. The sites I've found seem to focus on Gallegher's Steakhouse, but at 1 pm., that's a lot more food than we'll need.
Anyone have a suggestion? Either eat there or take onto the plane is fine.
Thanks in advance.

I grabbed a fish taco and enchilada at Maui Taco last night in C-3, and it wasn't bad. Not too heavy and reasonably priced (~$7 for a combo meal). Gallagher's also has some sandwiches and lighter items available from their surprisingly extensive menu. It's not like the real Gallagher's in the city, but it'll suffice for an airport steakhouse.
Au Bon Pain in C-1 and the food court near gate 74 (under the Presidents Club) has some decent light options. There's also a Vito's Deli, Ruby's Diner, and Le Petit Bistro in and around C-2 that are worth checking out as well.

I too recommend Au Bon Pain in C1 if youre interested in soups, sandwiches and pastries.
What are people's take on Nathan's Hot Dogs also in C1? I always pass by it, but have yet to try it since I'm already salivating for a roast beef sandwich from ABP everytime I land at EWR.
In C3, Cafe Juan Valdez and Jamba Juice are good for snacks and drinks, but in terms of food, Famiglia Pizzeria is the only decent place there that doesn't break the bank on my usually limited travel budget! :-)

I like the Maui Taco in C3. On C1 I've been known to have a happy meal to tide me over. Plus, it comes with a toy.

We usually fly out of EWR early AM and there's nothing like Nathan's hot dogs for breakfast if you've missed an EUA.

It depends on what gate you're going out of, since term C is so big with it's three 'fingers'. Each has decent options. IMHO my favorite is Garden State Diner if you're not in a rush.

Garden State is my favorite. Much better than Rubys.

I went with Au Bon Pain. Gallagher's looked great but the sandwiches run $12-$ 18, which is more money (and likely food) than I wanted.
I haven't eaten McDonald's food in over 10 years, though I did get a cup of coffee at one a few weeks ago.
Good thing I took food with me-the CO flight had cheesburgers. While I was surprised they served a hot meal, the burgers looked pretty rough.

If you're looking for lighter, slightly healthier fare in Terminal C, Le Petit Bistro, near the C-3 PC, isn't bad.

Nathan's now closed
The deli outside security at B gates (after international arrival) gone too. Their $7 pastrami sandwich deal was one of the best I have ever encountered for airport food.

Reliable Jersey diner...get breakfast 24 hours a day. Cant beat that! Everything is cooked to order and every once in a while a Nathans Hot Dog and Fries feeds my cravings.
