Exactly. For all intents and purposes E+ is a separate cabin. UA treats it as such.

Why not? The recent migration to *A and the apparent desire on the part of the management of both carriers to integrate the CO and UA products make this topic newly relevant.

Checking in with UA last weekend, I was in E-. Just for the hell of it, I asked the ticketing counter agent about E+. She brought over the manager who didn't seem to know whether CO Elites got UA E+ or not, so they just went with 'yes'.

Sometimes ignorance of the official rules is nice.

What?? CO elites in UA E+ for free? This is just like UA elites calling CO and stealing valuable benefits from CO elites!! Call out the national guard.

Last week, tried to do this from CLE to ORD and was politely refused. However, going to RNO from LAX Sat and will give it a try in the RCC in LAX to see if they will give me E+ for that flight. Maybe if they see what I have booked on UA for the next week will help convince them, but I am not really hopeful. BTW, in my opinion, UA E- is not the same as CO Y (non exit row). For some reason, the A-319 and A-320 seats seemed to be more like AF Y, tight and uncomfortable. However, this is just my personal opinion.

You can say that again. UA sluts cannot get an exit row seat on a non-first class equipped flight (props and Kenjets) even if they are traveling on a first class ticket (full Y fare on the prop flight). It is hard to believe that you can pay a first class fare and still wind up in an E- seat. This is not conducive to selling F seats on multi-segment flights that don't all have first class cabins.

I prefer the UA system.

The migration doesn't change the likelihood that retrofitting all of CO's planes with E+ would be cost prohibitive.

The migration may not, but the new CEO might.

It doesn't take much incremental revenue to cover the few seats removed.

How'd you get into UAL E+?

Could try random fluke:

When selecting my seats for an upcoming LHR-IAD, for some bizarre reason 20C was showing as available, without asking for any money. Hopefully now I'm in E+ I can swap it for a window w/o having to pay at check-in.

Still stuck in the back of the bus IAD-LHR, though

What flight number is your LHR-IAD and when is it? You can private message me if you don't want it made public.
