Baggage Policy Discrepancy
So there seems to be some confusion on how many bags I can take with me on an upcoming trip from Houston to Quito.
According to Continental's website I should get three bags as a Gold (will be plat at the time of travel)
Platinum and Gold Elite customers**
**May check three bags at no charge as long as each bag is a maximum 70 lbs (32 kg) and 62 linear inches (157 cm) (total length + width + height). Ticket must reflect confirmed seat for segment in which customer is checking in.
But, at the urging of family members I called to confirm. After spending time on hold with two individuals I am told it is two bags and not three. I was advised to print this "mistake" from the website and take it to the airport.
Is this indeed a mistake or do the folks on the phone not know the true policy?

Yep
I directed the folks on the phone to this page. She put me on hold for 15 minutes, came back and said the web was wrong. So that is where the confusion is for me.

When is the trip? The *G allowances (3 bags) may not actually be in effect until the *A change.
