Tazi's suggestion of 94th Aero Squadron is a good one. It will just be too crazy going downtown. There are lots of state society dinners, etc. that night and it will be too crazy gong around unpredictable closures downtown.

I do hope that it's better than my last experience there. :td: When I hear how this one is, I'll tell you about my past visit there.

you could always take metro. Having been caught in dc gridlock last week and seeing the warning signs as far west as 28, i too plan to park the car, barricade myself at home and watch it all on tv.

I guess it's all about perspective. When I got up today the air temperature without any wind chill was 10 degrees below zero.;)

Getting up there isn't the issue in and of itself - it's the matter of preheating, filing a FRZ flight plan, dealing with the special security measures at night in the cold, etc. etc. for what will amount to a 15-20 minute trip (it'll take me longer to drive to HEF than it normally takes to drive to CGS on a good day). I'd do a longer trip in the cold without hesitation... like ORF. I suppose my perspective might be different if I still had the Tanis heaters on the engine.

At least let me warm up with cabin heat before I gotta get out in the cold again... :)

In one of the other threads, it was noted that the venue in question wouldn't be an option (water damage). If this is BS, please let us know.

if not, let's meet at the Fox and Hound later.

I went to the concert at the Lincoln Memorial today. Metro worked like a charm. I parked at Greenbelt and hardly waited at all.

The mosh pit up front was life-threatening though. I thought people were going to get trampled to death.

Nothing was mentioned when I talked to them on Friday. I get no answer when calling now but it is early. I will keep trying. Hopefully should know something by noon.

I just got an email from the restaurant confirming that they are indeed closed. They had pipes burst over the weekend causing water damage.

Ah well, maybe next time. You all have a great time downtown this evening :)

Anyone have any suggestions on a place to meet/drink/eat? I think we'd be lucky to find a restaurant considering the town is going to be packed but maybe a hotel bar/lounge/restaurant would work.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

If it is not too late...how about this brazilian restaurant, Fogo De Chao, located between 11th NW and Pennsylvania Ave NW?

Sorry totmode, I've already made alternate plans with some co-workers.
