CHICAGO (West burb Aurora) - Sonic Do
There is a thread in the Chicago forum about Sonic coming to Chicago http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=836595
I'm curious to try them and it seems that others are as well.
The Aurora IL location is opening on Aug 19. So let the time/date debate for a Chicago Sonic Do begin.
Should it be a lunch/dinner time Do ?
Should it be a weekday or weekend Do ?
My personal suggestion would be a weekend Do, say lunchtime on Sat Aug 23 around 11:15am to "Beat the crowds"
Attending:
Mikey likes it
the_happiness_store
willie
A definite maybe:

Remembering Krispy Kreme's entrance to the market, I doubt 11:30am will avoid the crowds. I would think more like 10pm would do it.
I like Sonic, but I can't wait a half hour for a parking spot.
Unfortunately, I'm not going to be available on a weekend until sometime in October. Fortunately, I'll be in Phoenix and Nashville much of that time, and can therefore continue to get my monthly Sonic fix.
I could probably do Labor Day itself, however.

Willie -- I thought you don't do lines?
Having been past a couple of Sonics the first week or two after they'd opened, I'd say your not far off (especially on the first weekend or two after opening).
Thankfully I was able to get a Sonic fix today (not in Chicago!) which should hopefully last me a couple weeks until I'm back in TX.

Excellent! I'm not on the Chicago board often, so I wouldn't have known about Sonic opening. I won't be in Chicagoland until after this DO, so I'll have to enjoy Sonic independently, but hope everyone has fun! My first Sonic experience was in Oklahoma when I was a kid when we roadtripped out there from NY to visit my dad's family.
