Deodorant Do Too (II, 2)

As some of you know, I just can't seem to get enough of Vegas in July, and I'll be there on July 11 and 12th again. I'm working at an event, so I'd would be up for dinner on Friday and then dinner and whatever on Saturday. I'd love to meet up with any of the lovely locals who might be around and anyone else I can convince to brave the heat. Come one, come all, and watch the glow-in-the-dark Canadian melt.

Location: The Tillerman - 2245 E. Flamingo Road.
Time: 8:00 pm

In for dinner and/or an appearance on Cops:
BAMAT
MrpAlert
YEGcited
trekwars2000

Regrets:

Paying my respects to TED that weekend, or I'd be there for sure.

Sounds smelly Count on me to show up - deoderant in hand.

Unfortunately, you micounted the order of this odor. This is required to be classified as Deoderant Do #3.

Is the raw food cafe still open? That might make an appropriate dining destination.

Last night's Cops once again highlighted the transvestite prostitute activity in the shopping center of last year's DeoDo.

Six took stick, six took spray.

If you're younger than about 30 that will make absolutely no sense to you.

Sounds like a great reason to visit the family, but will be in the woods of Minnesota until the 12th.

I'm not under 30 (by a long shot) and I don't get it. Maybe it's a Canadian thing. And hey...can you even compare the woods to the steaming cement of LAS?

Way back when there was a Right Guard commercial about a jury doing deliberations. They were stuck and could not reach a verdict and it was hot and muggy. The bailiff brought in a tray of product, both spray cans and stick. The bailiff then announced that six jurors had taken the stick and six had taken the spray cans! LOL Maybe that commercial didn't run in Canada?

Well, since my mom sold the house I grew up in with a very nice pool and moved into her 'retirement' home across town I no longer look forward to summer visits. Driving in Las Vegas becomes more treacherous every year. One reason mom moved was they widened her street and drunks kept plowing into cars parked on the curb and her husband finally said it was time to go. That was four years ago. She is now in a nice little semi-gated community and the only thing that has happened was a stray bullet came ricocheting through the door and wall last year! Metro (the fine Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept., not the 'Las Vegas Police' of CSI) has no idea where the shot came from. When she told me the story it reminded me of my one New Years' Eve in Tijuana when they seem to like to shoot into the air.

Just saw "Love" at the Mirage on Saturday -- highly recommended, even if you aren't a huge Beatles fan. ^

Bad boys, bad boys, whatchagonnado? Whatchagonnado when they come for you?

I started a list at the top...a small but dynamic group, I'd say. If anyone else would like to see if they can make an appearance on Cops a la Meet the Parents, speak up!

Could one of the lovely locals suggest a spot for dinner? And possibly make reservations if we need them? I'm thinking Saturday..and whatever time works best for people is fine by me. I should be done by 5:30 ish.

I'm not local anymore so I can't book it for you, but I HIGHLY recommend the Tillerman Restaurant near Flamingo and Eastern, very convenient to the Strip. I started eating there when I was in college and always stop by when I am home. I took my mom and her husband there recently for their anniversary and it is still a fantastic spot. For larger groups they have a couple of party rooms but can do smaller groups in the dining room. The atmosphere is soft and the food is fantastic. Prices are competetive and portion sizes are good. Don't wear your shorts and T-shirts here. They do have online reservation bookings. See http://www.tillerman.com/

Hi, Bammy and fellow FTers! Put me down as a very likely for Saturday I'm going to try and get on the flight tomorrow night (Friday) and be in smokin hot Vegas. I'm gonna bring some extra Deo to prevent excessive B.O.!
