Also - I'm trying to gauge interest in a more formal dinner plan to follow up from this DO. Please PM me if you're interested and if there are enough people I'll see about making a reservation somewhere for like 7 or 7:30.

Mompou at 5 pm is the official plan. There hasn't been much interest in a more formal dinner afterward so I assume everyone is cool with spreading out and truly tasting the Ironbound. PM me if there is more interest.

Hi, everyone! I'm trying to non-rev to EWR tomorrow to spend 48 hours in NYC and my flight (westjet from YYC/Calgary) lands at 4:40 pm. It's going to be a long day since I will be starting from YEG/Edmonton, but if I feel spririted enough (and lucky enough to make it on both of my flights), I may imbibe a few spirits when I land in Jersey. But if I don't feel quite up for it, I'll head straight to NYC. In any event, I'll be lugging my luggage and FT tag, so I should be quite noticable lol.

The location was great--very casual and a great place to enjoy 9-10 large pitchers of sangria and tapas. That part of EWR is the happening area--lots of restaurants and bars and a couple of blocks from EWR Penn Station.

So that's what New Jersey looks like :) Fantastic event! ^

Thanks for dragging me out to Jersey Jumpgate! Before the DO, Newark=EWR to me, but now I see that maybe there's a bit more to it(including cheap rent and good bars/restaurants!) Despite admitting that, I'll take the initiative and host the next DO in Manhattan. ;)

I won't give away all of the fun details just yet, but you should have seen the 3 locals and a Canuck trying to get from Newark PATH/PENN to the UWS. If nothing else, we gave YEGcited the grand tour of downtown and the quintessential NYC cab experience.
