I am in. Mrs OrlandoFlyer will be joining me in Paris as well. No hotel booked yet but will book one today.

heffa Jun 14, 2008 4:59 am

I'm in too, no hotel yet... :)

I'm going! No hotel yet.

Last time I went to Paris, my flight was on TWA in First Class (on a 3 class 747) -- returning on an L1011.:eek:

Need to keep some type of budget, as I have an upcoming birthday trip (June 26th) to Vegas followed by a July 4th trip to Atlantic City. Unfortunately, we used up the majority of our Hilton points late last year.

For those you have not booked hotels, I suggest you get cracking especially for Saturday. Saturday many of the American Chain hotels are solded out or only have limited number of rooms.

I am booked at Le Méridien Etoile . I tried to book another room under the set number not available now.
On SPG.COM there are rooms for Saturday ar 190 Euros Le Méridien Passport Rate. On SPG Website shows Le Méridien Montparnasse is soldout both days. I suspect because of Saturday request.

Staying at Hilton Paris.

Not as exciting as staying with Paris Hilton...

I didn't notice the announcement in time, but no loss seeing as how I live in France. ;)

If the timing works out, I can join you all for a drink or meal or something on Saturday night or Sunday. Let me know if you decide on plans or need restaurant/bar tips.

deeaytch Jun 14, 2008 7:41 am

I'm in. As a student and consummate flyertalk lurker without many points or much time to travel, I might just become one of the world's first business class couchsurfers :)

The OP should be updated, looks like we're up to 12 people on the flight confirmed. Should be fun!

And I'm doing my best to stay at the IC, but first have to get my hands on the points. That could be one fun minibar party!:p

Not that I know of, I'm just going off of those that RSVP in this thread.

Excellent stimpy! I think we'd love some suggestions. Any ideas for places that aren't too pricey but are still decent (I know that's a tall order for Paris)? I'm think we have time working against us, since we're talking about a Friday and Saturday night...

ckc123 Jun 14, 2008 8:26 am

I'll be there!

Staying at this hotel.

Those of you staying at the Hilton Paris will enjoy the free serve-yourself open bar in the lounge every evening. Had so hoped to be there myself.

Lucky,
Some suggestions.
One of my favourite place for lunch in Paris is:
L'As du Fallafel in Marais. Unfortunately closed on saturday.
Sandwitches are excellent & cheap. A meal under 10 Euros.

For art lovers in the group: Musée d'Orsay. Musee Picasso
On 21 June at 8:00PM at d"Orsay Music Fest. Kurt Masur will conduct the orchestre.Admission is Free.

A question for the Chosen Ones:) When you got your emails, how long did it say you had to RSVP? thanks

bseller Jun 14, 2008 9:57 am

Randy you're the BEST!!!

Congrats to the winners!! ^^
Tho I am not among them :( it sounds like the perfect way to celebrate miles/points with international premium class travel!!

IIRC, the Saturday night is "Night of Music" in the Left Bank. My last time there, they closed many of the small streets in the 6th near Blvd. St. Germain and amateur bands set up shop on every other street corner.
Some were really good, some were terrible. ;)

Guys were selling beer out of ice chests and the party went until late in the night.
If it's on (and I have the date right) it might be a great way to wind down from that fabulous French food!
Have fun, and make sure to give us a TR!!

Best, Dave
