I agree that some of us are far away and only look, but seldom post here! You got a post earlier in the thread from FlyingOnceMore and he lives about 20 miles from me. We met earlier this year in a small FT meet of the BMI FF's in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Sorry as I must've been looking at a different list. But the point remains that using that thread as a yardstick offers little substantive estimates as only those who've posted on that thread are counted while others, like myself, aren't. That would be somewhat akin to doing a census by counting the number of votes cast in the last election.

I would be very curious to know how many really active (with 1,000+ posts) non-USA members we have.
Off the top of my head, I can think of quite a few very valuable FlyerTalkers, some of whom have posted in this thread, who live in other counties. They have most certainly enriched my FlyerTalk experience.
