Updated.

The first post has been updated to reflect all of the above.

I've never seen so many new definitions for maybe, probable, I may come etc etc.

Feel free to start posting the wine you're going to bring to dinner.

We're drinking drinkable wine that evening. I know someone joked upthread about 2 buck Chuck. You can keep that stuff at home and share it with your friends.

Good wine. Good food. Good talk.

I'm bringing a 2002 Kilikanoon Covenat Shiraz. FYI, I picked this up on a trip to SYD in 2005.

You can check tasting notes on what you decide to bring at www.cellartracker.com
They have a search engine that's informative.
If you're going wine shopping for dinner, I'm sure you'll go to your favorite trustworthy store.

If you're bring a wine from your cellar, please post here so that UCBeau and I can vet it. We're serious about nice wine.

Latour Blanche '89 if it fits into the scheme of things and can be
chilled on site.

I guess I'm going to be splitting my two buck chuck with just one person since I'm chopped liver at table 2
Cheers

Two buck chuck might go nicely with chopped liver.

Since I will be buying my wine in New York just beforehand I have the flexibility of waiting to see what others are bringing before I decide (also depends to some extent on the ultimate size of the group)

Having said that I will probably bring two bottles and at present am thinking about bringing a vintage Krug to start us off and then possibly a Valandraud (somewhat controversial wine but, to me, absolutely delicious)

Great choices to start, and finish our meal. ^

As for the Valandraud, controversial wine will certainly enhance the evening.

Howie, we may have to talk prior to dinner; or, maybe we'll go shopping together.

Since there are two of us, we will be bringing two bottles. We expect one to be a 2005 Rockblock "SoNo" Syrah. We are undecided about the other. We had previously talked of bringing an Inniskillin icewine for dessert, but there's perhaps no sense in that if violist is bringing a Latour Blanche.

Nice choice. ^ As for the Inniskillin icewine, there's time to decide. If the 'maybees' end up coming, we can put you at that table. <or> we'll just have to do a comparison at the main table.

I'm glad to see that everyone is stepping up with their choice of wine.

First thread updated.

Just so there's no misunderstanding, this is a wine dinner.

Indeed. We love wine dinners ^

I don't know the setup at the Fairway, but would it be possible for
nondrinkers to be set up at an adjacent table? (In case you hadn't
guessed, the teetotallers are buddies of mine.)

What exactly do you mean by "adjacent?"

Within the distance I can throw a bread roll, I guess.

(ad, to or toward; jacere, to throw)
