Mexican On The Border in Howard Hughes Center |
Pancho's in Manhattan Beach goes way out for Cinco de Mayo weekend, and Pancho's is also an FT meeting place. I agree that Olvera Street would be a ton of fun, but probably a bit crazy. Have a great time all!
Cheers. |

Greetings from FRA!!
ooh a mini DO in my hometown... just finished up my first ever FT get together in FRA and it was so much fun!!! Lucky.. your name came up a couple of times.=)..this is a good way to verify... ;) count me in... I have some other suggestions.. but you guys need to narrow it down to a few genres.. restaurants here are hard to get 15+ in like that even with reservations... and also depending how far you want to go.... little tokyo has this awesome all you can eat shabu shabu - beef, pork and vegetables.. for $25 pp. Ktown has a couple of all you can eat Korean BBQ with tableside grilling... including all the side dishes for $15 a pp. Steaks, Pork, Chicken, Rib meat.. etc. Both places are good for big groups... PM me for more info if interested.. |

Looking forward to meeting you, and thanks for the info! |
what a happy coincidink!
I've got a work thingy at Disneyland May 5-7th and I will be in LA the previous weekend.
How fortunate is that?!?!? :) I'd be happy to join for a meal and this time I _will_ drag the anti-social +1 along (we can always stick him at the end of the table :) ). |
Wow !!
This is becoming quite a group !!
Another (close-by) suggestion if Italian is an option: Bellagio Ristorante near LAX, border Culver City. Quite reasonable prices as well as delicious food, and large enough to accommodate 15+, as well as a special place for ASAY999's "anti-social" one ;) |
Olvera Street is fun and conveniently located across the street from Union Station which the rails go to AND there is a non-stop bus that leaves LAX to the station www.lawa.org/FlyAway . www.mta.net
We could go there and maybe eat nearby if the restaurants are too full http://www.yelp.com/c/la/restaurants...+Angeles%2C+CA Just a thought Cheri |
Is the Proud Bird still open? That used to be really cool because it is right on the final approach for 24L/R and had a speker at each table so you could listen to the tower. It isn't far from the airport.

Thanks to the help of N334AA as well as all the suggestions in this thread I've gone ahead and made reservations for both Saturday and Sunday night. Sorry that dinner on Sunday is so early, but I have a redeye to catch and sure as heck don't want to (or for that matter really can't) miss it.
I've gone ahead and moved everyone that hasn't confirmed for each particular event to the "maybe" list, so please let me know if you can confirm for one or both dinners. Also, if anyone would be up for lunch on Sunday somewhere cheap and really close to LAX, please let me know! I'd prefer not to do In-N-Out, but I'm open to ideas.:) Looking forward to it! BTW, at Petros we have the choice between the heated patio and inside. For now I made the reservation for inside, but wanted to see if anyone/everyone would prefer outside? |
