Great idea stef! The week before Valentine's day would be perfect!

Locks of . . . "LOVE", how appropriate for planning next year!

For this year, love the idea about coinciding this with the 10th Anniversary of FT. Does this work for all of you who are looking to participate?

Where do we find more information about the part in COS in June?

And maybe we could consider doing a "Locks of Love" Do as an annual event, say the week before Valentine's Day in a fun city like LAS or SAN? Maybe make 'the cut' at 4:00pm on a Thursday, allowing us to travel in that day, and leave Friday night - or extend it into the weekend?

Just ideas. :-: I hope it gets off of the ground!

Nothing definite about COS and June, but lots of speculation here if you want to wade thru the 15 pages!

Update on the 10th Anniversary FT "DO". So far nothing is concrete unfortunately. I have not spoken with Randy, but talked with several that are in the "know" and they don't "know" anything to tell us.

We'll keep the above mentioned option open for this year, but again LOVE the idea of a Valentine's Day Locks of Love "DO"! Great minds in this forum! ^

Since you need 10 inches, should we plan on a Locks of Love "DO" on Valentine's Day in 2009, or 2010?

I Did It...

So I failed at my personal deadline of Valentine's Day, but I just got in under the wire for St. Patrick's Day and made the cut today.

10 1/2" gone! I took before and after photos. I still feel like I'm my before self. But all in all, it was much easier than I thought.

And a very special thank you to missydarlin for your advice in chat last night. I am going to pass along two of your very helpful suggestions:

If you are considering getting 10" cut off, get a sheet of typing paper, look in the mirror, and place the paper at the bottom edge of your hair. What you see left of your hair is what you get to keep.

And if you can't quite make the 10" consider donating 8" to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program which also makes wigs for women.

The Locks of Love website also has great 'before and after' photos of donors and the kids! Very cute.

As for a Do this summer or next year, I would still be interested! Keep me in mind.

I got my hair trimmed last night and to remove enough of the damaged ends (curse you, California sunshine!), she ended up taking off about three inches.

That'll leave me without enough hair for a meaningful donation, so I might sit this year's donation Do out.

Are we on for a Valentine's Day DO for Locks of Love in 2009? If we are, I'll just get mine trimmed now. Otherwise, I'm going to schedule an appointment.
