I joined the original ("FlyerTalk.com") group some time ago. I just now joined the new one ("FlyerTalk") and I see that, including me, there are only five members. Oddly enough, the guy who started the new one isn't even a member of it!

Am I the only one that thinks the LinkedIn Groups (not just the FT ones but all of them) are pretty useless? Nobody seem to have any real discussions going on them. Ads for conferences, jobs, services, but no actual discussion threads.

Actually, I created a Continuing Medical Education group on LinkedIn and it has served as a good place for discussion of key issues, conference coverage, and interactions between various stakeholders. It has worked well for us...it may be a factor of who joins the group and how it is run...
