I am a starter for Friday 25th, but no one esle apart from you & Clifford has shown much interest yet.
Who is town for the weekend ? Perhaps they are still sleeping after being at the tennis until 4:30 am

Mwenenzi,

I have accommodation though I can cancel if needed. Hopefully we'll hear from a few others during the week and make it worthwhile.

What a great year to umpire/visit the Australian Open. ^

Such close and lonnnnng matches to 5am or so - and many upsets so far. :)

We were Rudi's guests last year, and I think were the first to introduce him to Chloe - as this photo bears witness:

I doubt any other person in that full Swiss national costume had ever entered Young and Jacksons before. :)

Mr Falconea and I are up for something on Friday.

Mwenenzi & thadocta,

Is there anything occurring on Fri 25th? Clifford from AFF showed interest in attending.

Works for me, just let me know where and when.

(Have been busy, this is the first time since Friday I have been anywhere near the net).

Dave

Been working the baselines then? :D

I'm a possible for Friday, depending on arrangements.

I'll go with the flow. Is Y & J's a good meeting place again?

falconea & tuapekastar,

Look forward to seeing you again if this gets off the ground.

We could choose a restaurant ahead of time and meet up directly there.

What sort of food, and what sort of price range are people looking at?

Mr Falconea and I prefer somewhere fairly quiet, with non-spicy food. Apart from that, we're easy.

Clifford from AFF has told Itsalongwaydown he is a starter. So we will meet Friday 25th 6:00 pm at Chloes bar upstairs & Y & J's. As ist Friday night will be busy.

As for a meal how about LA Camera on Southgate again or any other suggestions? LA Camera cost us $25 each when we ate there on Sunday 13th , so not too hard on the wallet. Where ever we go suggest we make a reservation, as most places will be busy on a Friday night.

A group of umpires have been eating at "The Pub" at Crown Casino - great food, and very reasonably priced too. (Us umpires don't get paid much, there isn't much money left over once they pay the winners over a million dollars).

Any thoughts?

Anywhere does just fine for me.

La Camera was quite good, and very reasonably priced. (Says the drinker of Melbourne tap water!) Website here: http://www.lacamerasouthgate.com/

Gets my vote. The Pub at Crown has a DJ on Friday nights and I have a feeling it might get very noisy.

I am not a certain starter tomorrow, but when tom911 was here last year we ate at The Pub at Crown and it was just fine. So I'd happily go there.
I think it'd be a struggle to find anywhere quiet on Friday nights (just noisy and noisier :)).

I was afraid of that!

I'm partially deaf and noisy places make it even harder than usual for me to follow the conversation.

Not that I can ever follow 100%, but it's nice to increase the odds a little!
