Eventbrite is the online registration and payment system that a number of us have used to help run our dos. This is a heads up for those like me who might not have looked at it recently - the free version is becoming a lot less useful shortly, as we will no longer be able to create multiple tickets or take payments of more than $20000 (which sounds a lot, but I processed nearly $10000 for the London Mega do
).
If on the premium version, fees are 2.5% of ticket value, with a minimum fee of 99 cents.. which means on any ticket value less than $40, the % is rather higher
I've had a look around for equivalents, but the closest I could find had a fixed $4.75 fee - however, payment options for do organisers were horrible if outside the US (I really don't want them sending me cheques on a monthly basis in US $!), and they also did not have the simplified payment system that eventbrite has
Looks like increased fees for attendees, or back to trying to keep track ourselves again

yeah, bad news. I heard that somewhere and I am happy that my registration for Reims is set up. hopefully they don't change existing events
Randy, you once told us that FlyerTalk is thinking about a similar implementation for helping us to organise DOs. any update? that would be a good moment
I'd be happy to help you and discuss the needs of the DO organising folks here at FlyerTalk.

EventBrite has been throwing some unpredictable but potentially nasty wobblies last month too. I have had to manually switch the ticket currency from USD back to GBP on two occasions after unprompted "resets" by its system. This of course may be attributed to the fact that I am an idiot and the set-up is no longer idiot-proof
It has settled down more recently, thankfully.
Other than that, it was a godsend when organising the recent EDI FT Gathering.

within the next week you'll see an announcement of a partnership between myself and a new Web site out of Asia. The partnership includes FT, and WebFlyer, etc.
One of the components of that partnership is the use of their technology assets to create just what you are referring to. I am pleased that they have the resources and the idea behind something quite special. But we are certainly working on these things to the point of trading links, etc. for access to technology assets to get this done. more next week.
