...but it is on a Saturday night, so I do not want to hear any excuses.

For example, Oh, dear I have a flight out of Atlanta at 3:00 on Sunday morning. Whatever will I do?!? is not acceptable.

My husband is due to give birth at any time and I need to be there for him is also not acceptable.

I am not attending unless I can bring home one of those gates from the headquarters of Delta Air Lines is also not acceptable.

On the other hand, I suppose that Canarsie is attending?!? Forget it! I aint comin anywhere near Atlanta! could be considered acceptable...

Spiff, you're on my list! (of FT'ers I'd like to meet, that is.) I might be able to make it....I'll have to check and get back with you.

Please add me to the 'attendee' list. Wouldn't miss this!

Oh - what exactly will I not miss? Has a location been determined?

No location has been determined yet. Somewhere not too far from the airport would be a plus.

If I do attend I probably won't get in until 9pm. Our last flight on that Sat. leaves at 3pm and I don't get off until 3:30. So I will have to fly US Scareways via CLT to get to ATL.....all prayers will be needed.

Houlihans Restaurant worked really well the last time a group of FlyerTalk members met at the airport.

The food is good but not expensive, there is a second floor to the restaurant, and it is conveniently located airside at the main Atrium near Spiffs favorite location: the security checkpoint.

zsmith2, aucarol and I were there on February 25, 2007.

Perhaps this is where we should meet again?

I no longer spend money at airports while the current "security" rules are in effect.

Someplace near ATL, perhaps?

This is interesting, as I have never eaten at a place near the airport although that is a good idea.

I almost never spend money at airports, even before the current security rules were implemented.

Notice that I did not use the word effect. I tend to like to use the word effect when something is actually effective, but I digress.

I will need to research as to what options are convenient to the airport...

Possibly maybe

I am on a mileage run from SFO on DL that night (ex. SFO @11:30p) so I won't get to ATL until 5/27. Booked on an "A" fare and am confused if I can change it without penalty. Earlier flights are available in F & D, can I change onto one of them? I owe Spiff a drink for standing him up in HNL

Last edited by zoegksf; May 22, 2007 at 4:32 pm Reason: forgot "DL" part

I've eaten at many places near the airport. But, it's been a few years so I'm not comfortable making a recommendation.

Perhaps one of the DL employees (knfenimore, Blind Squirrel, ???) could make a recommendation? They probably spend a bit of time in the VA Ave./Loop Road area.

Can't make the changes without a hefty penalty. Maybe another time

I know some on VA Ave as that was my home for almost 2 months. Spodivits and Malones are the two that stick out the most. There are some other restaurants down the road a bit but couldn't tell you what they are (as they weren't in walking distance to me).
