“My husband is due to give birth at any time and I need to be there for him” is also not acceptable.

“I am not attending unless I can bring home one of those gates from the headquarters of Delta Air Lines” is also not acceptable.

On the other hand, I suppose that “Canarsie is attending?!? Forget it! I ain’t comin’ anywhere near Atlanta!” could be considered acceptable...
