I'll actually be in KL the week prior but will be back in SIN on Friday/Saturday night and probably will be heading to HKG sometime during the following week (if there are any others going, PM me!). Will be doing a stopover in BKK on my way back to Cali on the second week of August.

Hello Guys! Any space for a "local" that is new to any DO in flyertalk to join? Well, I'm not really "local", but I've been living here in Singapore for the last 8 years. Would love to meet with people from flyertalk, especially lucky, which had helped me a lot in United forums before. (Thanks Lucky!!)

I'll be travelling to US and Korea this month, but I think I will be back to Singapore before this date. Therefore, if there's more space available, please count me in!

If you have free time in Singapore, may I suggest the Botanical Gardens (if you like nature, of course). Particularly, the Orchid Garden, which has extraordinary collections of orchids.

Food-wise -- As others mentioned, trip to Singapore won't be complete without tasting seafood (chilli crab or pepper crab, oatmeal prawns, bamboo clam, etc). Two places to recommend: No Signboard at Esplanade, or Palm Beach at Fullerton. They offer nice view, with great food. After dinner, you can take a stroll along Fullerton Road and Esplanade area, which offer superb view of the Merlion and the lights of Singapore at night.

Anyway, if you guys need a guide (tho a lousy one :D ) or at least some directions, please PM me and I'll see what I can do.

I was leaning towards staying here for dinner and drinks just for simplicity. Is that recommendable for those late arrivers, or would you choose a different place for drinks?

So are there activities being planned for the 29th during the day? Also, are we doing anything after dinner/drinks at 6PM? Just wondering, since I'm not able to join what you guys have planned on the 30th due to an early flight out.

Good question. Would any of the locals be available on the 29th maybe for a bit of a tour or something? As far as after dinner/drinks are concerned, I would say that will last until at least 10PM or 11PM, but let's think about that.:)

This location is o.k. for late drinks or walk across the river(many spots in Clark Quay).

Taxi's sometimes tough from Riverside Point. Taxi stand also located far side Clark Quay. Subway located close to Cafe. Subway stops after midnight(shortly).
