I'm flying up for the day, meetings in Manhattan and flying out of LGA at 8:35pm.
Happy hour and appetizers, Tuesday November 21st at 5:30pm

Yeah, 5:30 is a tad early for dinner. That's why I'm thinking happy hour and appetizers may be better.

La Bonne Soupe serves pretty fast and is good and a good value. THey are on the East Side of Manhattan: 48 West 55th Street New York, NY 10019 Tel: (212) 586-7650 Fax: (212) 765-6409

Let me know if this works for you and I can make a reservation. (they don't have beer I don't think but have a decent house wine or two.)
There's also Heartland Brewery which has several locations around Manhattan. They have some decent house brews (and I know you sort of like teh beer MA: http://www.heartlandbrewery.com/

OMNI for Spiff: when do you fly into EWR and do you have a long layover? There' sgood Spanish/Portugese food just a train ride away in Newark.

Wollensky's Grill does sound good and ending up the day around East 49th puts me in a good spot for getting back to LGA...
