Dan... do you think we should make a reservation at PJ Ryan's ahead of time? I can't tell if they take reservations. Otherwise maybe someone should offer to show up early and grab a table.

MA: I think when you get a moment you should update the list - stockmanjr looks CONFIRMED and looks like a few more are possible.

Could this be considered the first NYC Monthly? Happy Hour? ] Most of the recent events (from Banker to Soup) were dinners and Dos.

Catman,

At 5:30, it's still a walk-in type of place, just like Wollinsky's Grill.

Can you smell the fresh air?

Thanks Dan... I am guessing after a day of grueling meetings Mileage Addict will be the first to reach PJ's (I may try to get there a little early myself to secure a decent sized table.)

I will probably have to cut out of PJ's around the time MIleage Addict leaves for the airport. I have friends who are coming into Jersey City so I'm going to meet up with them later.

Should the later drinks meeting be a separate thread since it's going to be somewhere else? Just a friendly suggestion.

Grueling meetings? Nah. More like schmoozing with some clients and reviewing some spectacular 3rd quarter performance reports. ^

I am usually early to FT events so I'll be there by 5:30pm for sure.

He says that now ... but as someone who was in jeopardy of not getting home tonight b/c of that Mesa flight cancelling unexpectedly and the auto-rebook putting me on tomorrows 6 am flight ... I figure if there is inclement weather or any chance of a problem with the flight, well....

Personally after tonight, if I decide to do this I may book on the Shuttle since I have a flight the next day to catch.

I hope both discussions (early dinner and drinks later) get left here. I'm now about 50% for making this... but I have no clue how early or late I will get into the city if I do - and I'll have Sam - DFW in tow too....

(Still 50% because we have a fun DFW FT dinner that night that I'd like to make, but it is starting to look fairly likely that I'll be in NY/PA instead.)

I proposed Dorian's Old Irish Hand Pub (the Jersey City one) since it has good food and a good bar atmosphere (and the staff likes "Catman." )

ewrfox...

Dorian's Pub is in the Newport area on a strip called "Restaurant Row" with a Bertucci's, Indian restaurant, Cuban restaurant and cigar bar and other places.

I'm surprised you never seen it since it's been here over five years.

I really enjoy the place and always thought it might be nice for an FT dinner or get together (I'm still retired from the DO organizing business.)
