Thanks Santa!

For the great South Africa "care package" -- a book to read and a travel book to drool over. Now, I just have to find the vacation time to get there...

ps. I think your name was on the amazon shipping label, but if you would like to reveal your FT handle then I can thank you by "name."

Wow, awesome! This morning, Geoboy went out to get the mail (which I forgot to get yesterday) and in the mail were gifts from two FT Secret Santas! Not sure if they're from the same person, but in one envelope, I got a $10 gift card to Starbuck. Yum! Since my trip to Paris, I've been drinking coffee, which I never drank before, so this was aptly timed!

In another envelope, I got a letter telling me my Secret Santa made a donation (amount unknown) to Angel Flight, a nonprofit company that provides free air transportation to people who lack the financial means to get the special medical care they need. I think that is SUCH a cool gift and it really means a lot to me that Santa knew I'd appreciate something like this. Very cool, Santa!!! Thank you!

Thank you to my secret santa who fueled my passions with WWII books and beer goodies! If my secret santa could send me a PM or find someone to facilitate if they want to remain anonymous, I'd like to take you up on your offer about the t-shirt, if you don't mind. I will say that I'm very jealous if you were able to try all of those beers!

ETA: DH will also enjoy the books quite a bit.

Thank you (anonymous) FTSS!!

Just got home to find a perfect collection of New York themed gifts from one of my FT Secret Santas who chose to remain anonymous (can I convince you to reveal your identity??). Very thoughtful collection of items!!! Thanks so much! I also received a USPS slip about an item to pick up at the post office. Perhaps it is from my other Secret Santa... I'll excitedly pick it up on Monday.

Thanks again NY-based (??) FTSS!!

Another package arrived late yesterday afternoon! I received a Flight Plan DVD, a compilation CD, a deliciously large Swiss chocolate bar (which, after last night, btw, Geoboy and I agree is a tasty treat), three smaller chocolate bars, body lotion, shower gel, and fragrance in a very mild and pleasant scent, and a natural shower sponge. What a great gift, Santa! Thanks!

A certain FTer should be getting a nice gift today. A friendly package tracking web site just told me it was "Left at doorstep".

Everyone look at your doorsteps - Merry Christmas!

I've had one package delievered by Elf Dan down in FLL that I loved, thank you so much.

I also received notice today that one of the packages I sent out to somebody in a totally unrelated to flyer talk group now has this message on it's delivery scan at UPS:

THE PACKAGE WAS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH THE DETAILS;DAMAGED MERCHANDISE DISCARDED, BALANCE BEING RETURNED. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH THE DETAILS

hate that.

That's about the worst message you can get on a holiday delivery.

Santa would like to ask people to post publicly when they receive their gifts... a great way to let your Secret Santa know you received your gift... and a way to make others envious of what you received...

HO HO HO!

This was different - I had a personal delivery by an Elf to my front door this evening. I've been up since very early this morning Europe time (didn't sleep on my flight home at all) and was close to crashing when he knocked. It was a close call as to whether I was going to answer that door, but glad I did. Thanks SS for the Mary Kay, Starbucks, candles, etc - I loved opening the bags.
