chrissxb, so do you actually arrive on 30 Dec or earlier ? I only ask because I arrive at MXP on 29 Dec at 9:45.

I do the same thing. Arrive around 11.30-noonish on the 30th. Take the bus to Lugano and leave early on th 31st for MXP. My flight leaves about 9.00ish.

I will fly into ZRH and as of today have planned to come to LUG with airoli by car. Holding a reservation at the Holiday-Inn, but not sure if I stay there.

We are getting very close to the Meet date and I have to make a reservation for us at the restaurant.

I would hope that our "possibles" (Ralfkrippner, MRP Alert,SEAUAKID,AFBrat, KathyWdrf, and verve + gf) can make it but would very much appreciate hearing from them one way or the other.

Depending on how many people will be coming, I will either provide driving instructions on how to get to the restaurant from the Dante Lugano hotel or else meet with you there and provide a ride for up to 4 of you who are car-less.

After dinner, we will go to the UIG's house, which is only a few minutes from the restaurant, and enjoy some brandy and some chatting.

Sorry I can not make it. My new job does not allow me vacation yet :(

There has been a slight change of plans which won't really impact on the Meet but does make it important for us to know how many people are coming and how many of them will have cars.

I called the restaurant a few minutes ago to make reservations and found that they won't be open!

I immediately contacted another restaurant of the same type (the one that offers wildlife dishes as well as the more traditional ones) and told them we will be between 6 and 10 people and that dinner will be at 8 pm.

I have to call them no later than a week before the meet to give them an exact number.

The only problem is that this restaurant is a few kilometers further away than the original one. This increases the prices for those who were planning on taking taxis.

Once we know how many people are definitely coming and how many cars we will have, we may well be able to carpool from downtown Lugano to restaurant.

I am asking everyone to please post here whether he will be coming by car and, if so, how many free spaces he will have.

I'm coming by car and will have 4 open seats (or three, depending on how big/wide/tall the passengers are - the back seat can be a bit snug).

Okay, then with my car we should have no problem. We will meet at the Dante Lugano Hotel around 7 pm, get to know each other a bit, and then carpool to the restaurant.

Those of you staying at the Dante Lugano try to get a space in their parking garage. If you can't for any reason, park in the Motta Parking Silo (which is right next to it). Everyone else, park in the Motta. We will convoy from there.

Writing this from TRD. I will be one of the ones needing a ride from the Dante Lugano. Looking forward to seeing everybody at 7PM. Will use some time to shop in Lugano before the meet. It could be a while before I get to check the net again. So I will see you all there.
