Yes, KC games are definitely expensive. Good seats can be had from "legal" scalpers in the State of Kansas (ACE Sports, Ticket Solutions, etc) but you're looking at least $200 a head just to get in.
Great idea, but might not be economically feasible for all attendees.

Sounds great...There is way more to Kansas City than BBQ but if that gets FTers here!!!...plus Q-DOO has a cute ring to it!
For activities outside of a rib crawl...which, depending on the number, we could rent a trolley for the night which is totally fun cause you can drink and not worry about the odd sobriety check-point...there is Boulevard Brewery which gives tours on Saturdays complete with a tasting, there are some decent happy hours (M&S Grill does a Saturday happy hour with $5.00 martinis, half-price glasses of wines and 1.95 appetizers...the fish tacos are outstanding and my personal favorite Grand Street Cafe does a Saturday happy hour with discounted appetizers) and our local wine shop Waldeaux Wines (in the neighborhood called Waldo!)does wine tastings Friday from 5:30 to 8:00 and Saturday 3:00 to 5:00 and will do private group tastings as well.
Sunday, we should head to Figlio's for brunch before everyone departs...an amazing buffet (I'm not a buffet person but I like this one) where they do cooked-to-order fritattas and pastas, have a great cold antipasto station, and serve killer bloody mary's backed with a glass of beer!
If we make the Country Club Plaza Sheraton Suites or Marriott or Hampton Inn and Suites Q-DOO Central, we are close to all that is great and good about KC and we can even hit 18th and Vine for late night jazz and beverages or catch the latest act at the ever popular Jardin on Main just north of the Plaza. Marilyn Maye...our hometown chanteuse who I remember as a child watching on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson...starts a two week gig there next week doing two shows nightly and I'm so there for her Best of Marilyn show. She is alternating that with a tribute to Ray Charles.
So, let's get this gig arranged and on the calendar...Jan/Feb weather is iffy, the city is not at its best (you should see it now, height of fall, amazing clear days and crisp cool evenings...just delightful and I'm so glad I'm home to enjoy it) but we can make it great.

I'd be interested if if was scheduled far enough out to get good fares.
ETA: Is there still a weekend off between the AFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl? If so, that might be a good weekend so that Chiefs fans don't have to worry about possibly missing a game.

Picking dates...
I probably should've either thought of this 6 weeks ago or brought it up next spring. If you guys are game for a "winter" Q-fest, I'll work on arranging it. Right NOW is a great time, but that doesn't leave enough time for folks to plan or get decent fares. Are you all interested in coming in mid-January? February? Want to wait until spring when it's warmer? Kansas City doesn't get much snow but it does get cold December - February... of course the Q-joints are open year round, but it would limit other activities to schedule it in the winter.
