Bali DO, May 27-29
Here it is, as suggested by CGK, the official thread! :D
Originally Posted by CGK
We can do first night DO Friday May 27. StarG and I will try to come up with some places to have dinner and drinks afterwards. Seafood dinner perhaps by the beach. There are so many vendors like a street hawker in Singapore.
Then we can have second-night DO Saturday May 28. Back up little bit. During the day, we can do sightseeing. Then I am thinking of heading to the area around Seminyak (north of Kuta towards Legian) for the sunset by having drinks at La Lucciola by the beach. We can have dinner there (western food) or other places near by. Then, there is a famous bar and restaurant called Kudeta. I would say it's upscale. StarG might still have the website address (my explorer in my desktop is disappeared, so I lost all my bookmarks and can not surf the internet). I think there is a dress code or something. Or else we can head for Jalan Dhyana Pura where lots of bars and restaurants. We can do bar hopping :D But I heard these area will start to be alive after 11pm. And the most crowded place would be the gay bar/dance club Kudos which has table/chairs outside, as well as Q Bar.Then, later that morning (after 1am) we can all go to the disco/dance club - Double Six by the beach. Taxi would be plentyful to get you back to the hotel and will take about 30 minutes ride. What do you think? Should we start a new thread for Bali DO? Any other suggestions what to do for the DO? Other places? |

See ... you are always ahead ... ^ That's why you are the event organizer! :D 27 is Friday night. We need to know when your arrival schedules guys! MANFlyer and I definitely will be there because we will arrive in Bali May 25.
Are we going to do dinner as well for 28 Saturday night? I am thinking of asking my SQ contact here to spare us a bottle of Dom or Krug for my b'day present :D :D What do you think? ;) :) |

CGK...I think you should make that 2 bottles :)

Now can I please have the hands again, confirmed/maybe, and the number of companions? I will try to keep the list updated. Thanks. :)

I am alone confirmed. I will ask my friend whether she wants to join or not. My SO I don't think interested in partying anymore. I am alone and free ... ;)
|
CGK, end of May seems to be high season, right?
If yes, then we all need to finalize things quickly so I can go ahead and make reservations accordingly. Unfortunately, no VIP access cards like sailaway75's here. :D |
We will have two nights for dinner: Friday and Saturday. I like all the three choices listed. KuDeTa is the most expensive. Bumbu Bali is Indonesian food, which in medium range. And the seafood would be the inexpensive one. Am I correct making this clarification, StarG?
Therefore, we need to decide which one for Friday, which for Saturday. My thinking is, since the birthday girl arrives late Friday 7pm, we should aim for later time instead of 19:30. Another consideration, since MAN Flyer will be available only on Friday night, we should check with him, which one of the three will be his first choice (as he is an SQ PITA ;) , therefore gets the FIRST choice always ... :D :) :D But from the "busy" situation restaurant wise, most probably it's easier to get reservation at KuDeTa for Friday night, instead of Saturday night. What do you think guys? |

Now....changing the reservation...that was a real treat & you don't want to know how long I was on the phone...not to mention having it interrupted by a fire drill (ours, not UA's) and I'm now flying transpac in SQ C instead of F :o |
Arrghhh.......I was going to say yes since SO & I have never been to Bali and post when I got in to office this morning but 15mins ago, I've been told to get ready for a trade mission exhibition in Chicago starting that weekend. Oh well.....
So cawhite60156, I guess I'm going to Chicago and you're not be there :D |

Hmmmm... if I wasn't already going to be in Oz, this would be a definite wanna be there. I had already looked into getting up to Bali from Oz after that weekend, but couldn't make my UA ticket flex back the way I needed to.
Hmph. Que sera - but I DO love Bali! |
