Greetings all. Just found this thread from the cross-posting reference in the SQ forum (without that, I'd never have found it). I'm a bit late in coming to the discussion, as Mr. Megatop and I just finished a quick long weekend in San Francisco, which left me out of touch.

We will be in Bali around the time of your festivities, so we'd like to join if plans work themselves out or at least meet up with a few fellow FTers. We arrive in DPS on SQ 146 at 19:10 on Saturday, May 28th, so we'll probably miss the dinners you've planned. Anything on the table for Sunday or thereafter?

We depart Bali on June 2nd, and we'll stopover in Singapore for two days.

For those of you jetting around on SQ at the same time, I'm flying transpacific on a DL award in Raffles :D , meeting up with Mr. Megatop in Bangkok, then we'll fly together on SQ Y to DPS. Details below, in case anyone's on the same flights or transiting at Changi at the same time.

I am glad to hear the two of you can join the DO. Saturday night, eventhough you missed the dinner but perhaps two of you can join us for drinks, or bar hopping till sunrise. :D Yeah, like I can stay awake! I am getting old! :( Sunday most of us will leave on SQ147 at 8pm. So plenty of time to have another party. May be we will crash your wonderful Ritz Carlton swimming pool ...

Well, I got my seat for SQ12 June 6 Monday though!

I think Cheryl will be on SQ 19 24 May LAX-21:20 SIN-05:40** If you can leave earlier on DL355, you can connect to SQ19. I think it's more comfy on A345. :D :D

No luck in F on other routes yet? ;) Yesterday I called UA Award Desk (for my other trip), and casually asked the agent to check 24 MAY LAX-SIN on SQ F. She said yes there is F for LAX-NRT but only C for NRT-SIN. But definitely SFO-HKG on SQ is full.

I haven't been checking for the LAX-SIN-NRT flight on the 24th as I don't know if I can get the entire day off work that day (my dog is eating up my vacation days at a frightening pace these days :( ). Was trying for a while on the 25th, but no availability. I'll probably stick with the outbound as reserved. I've been holding off on ticketing as I've been hoping for F availability SIN-NRT on the 30th...and voila, it just cleared this afternoon as did the ORD space! :) The agent I talked with on Saturday afternoon was kind enough to offer to push it back a week for me.

Yeah, I know the A345 would be more comfy than the 777-200ER, but I can't leave ATL any earlier and I'd rather not mess with success in the sense of what I've got. SQ awards through DL SkyMiles are so difficult to come by, I'm just gonna leave it be. I'll get to walk around Chiang Kai Shek a bit, maybe get a passport stamp if the flight's early and the lines are short.

Well if you change your mind...would always enjoy some FT company in the front of the 345 :)

You never know what award availabilities are. I think there is one or two award seats on SQ19, unless other had snatched them.

I've been spoiled rotten on SQ F and NH F the past three weeks. Sadly just one more SQ F segment then it's back to reality.

On a side note, I just SMS'ed a friend that works for SQ telling her how spoiled SQ has made me. She replied, "How did we spoil you :) ?" My reply, How about I get you a ticket on UA and you can see for yourself.

Just make it a ticket that combines TED, UX and the G Gates at IAD... :eek:

I guess SQ doesn't have Employee Class concept, so that could explain her response. :D

Incidently, while I was checking in at the SFO SQ counter, I struck up a conversation with the check-in gal, and she confided that when she flies back to taipei next week, she's flying on EVA EverGreen class, which is much more comfortable than SQ coach.

Put me down as a Maybe, gonna be out in Bali June 1'st to see some friends. Too bad I did not see thread earlier

A million thank-yous and ^s to CGK for all of his help in ensuring my first trip on SQ (and especially the first segment ;) ) will be a great one! Hopefully now my ticket is all set! :)

I'm currently waitlisted on both legs SIN-DPS SQ 142 on May 27th, and DPS-SIN SQ 147 on 29th. Holding a seat on SQ 148 26th May, but I'm flying back from SEA on 25th... Hope there won't be any technical problems, else I'm screwed.

Since I'm on the verge of depleting my KF a/c, I could only scrounge up enough miles for a coach tix, so if anyone is up front on the same flight, be nice and bring some champagne over :D

I did try calling UA to see if anything is available, but given biz on a 2-class, they want to charge me 40k miles for a 2-hr flt. Somehow, that didn't quite jive well with me :D

Yes, the infamous "satay" was served before dinner from NRT to LAX. :D (Poor dear Kiwi Flyer, all his SQ flights without satay ;). And no nuts! )
But that morning when I was at SKL Changi, I had satay with vegetarian fried rice, and some dim sum. :) Hmm, I could not resist the temptation to have "laksa" as well.

Faizal called me. He is scheduled for standby around that dates, and on the 29th am, he is scheduled to Perth. He apologized to you all, especially Cheryl, for once again unable to join. But, I told him to ask for day-off.

kluau88, hey SIN-DPS-SIN fares can't be that bad. ;)

Unless LH M&M gets SQ seats from a different pool, there were still seats available depart on 27th, and return on 29th in biz.

Bugger that he's going to miss out with us....but I do like the thought of him asking the day off!

Pity the crew working that flight... :D
