Hmmm....

Thanks for the bump. Haven't unpacked from the Freddies*, but sounds like some pretty nice people will be there. And the dates are good.

Check this out.

For all those that are interested, here is a page about Puerto Rico and some of the places we will be able to visit.

So far, I have plans to visit wiith those who are up for it, the following sites:

Please add me (and wife) to the interested list. I have an award to San Juan I have repeatedly cancelled and if I don't use it by November I'd either forfeit the miles or pay the redeposit fee (neither options I particularly like). Combined with six free nights with Hilton through various promotions, this could be a very nice way to see a new area and meet some FTers.

I'll probably comfirm by mid July. Thanks for the tips about things to do/see.

Just came back from Puerto Rico and my stay at the Courtyard Marriott was great. The amenities are endless, great pool, great beach for soaking in some sun and a quick ocean dip.

So I predict our stay for the Puerto Rico Do should be as rewarding.

Also, I have updated the List of Puerto Rico Do'ers. Check the first page of the thread.

Great fare from DFW to SJU for the Puerto Rico DO.

In my book, "1,000 Places to See Before You Die", for Puerto Rico, it lists:

The Horned Dorset Primavera, a hotel in Rincon
Old San Juan
Vieques, a small island 6 miles east of Puerto Rico

Moved to PR a few years ago (but on the west side of the island), will definitely try and make it over to San Juan, at least for a drink or two (hey, don't laugh, it takes twice as long for me to get to San Juan as it does for friends flying from Florida). For those who come, make sure and try to get out and around the island, so much to see and do.

Old San Juan definite we can do.
Vieques, a bit far for just a weekend DO. If you spending more time in PR, you might wanna take a day trip there. Great place to see!

so true, Puerto Rico is a great island.

If anyone is around the evenings of June 2 or June 7, I'll be in San Juan both those nights. Just PM me.

Hey - put me down as interested as well! Too early to tell yet, though.

Got it.

In Old San Juan, I highly recommend:

Butterfly People

They sell exquisite art work of butterflies in acrylic boxes. You can purchase their art work from their web site, but it seems to be cheaper when you buy from the store. They can ship it anywhere.

I bought one for a Christmas gift when a friend asked me to order a gift (little over $100) for a billionaire client of his. What do you get for a billionaire, except something unique like this?
