No, you were a week off. It's the other thread where you were a month off...

Anyone know - approximately - when a game at Wrigley ends if it starts at 2:20 PM? I know there is always a possibility for extra innings, but if it just went for 9, how long would the game last?

A nine-inning game starting at 2:20pm would be done by 6pm.

Thanks. I'm trying to figure out which day would be best to try to go. I was thinking Sunday afternoon maybe because my flight is rather late, but 6 PM doesn't give me enough time to get back to the hotel, pick up my stuff, and get out to the airport. So, it looks like Saturday (4:05 PM) or not at all. Friday's game is at 2:20 PM, but that means pushing the late lunch thing to dinner around 7 PM.

Sincerely,

Okay. It looks like the itinerary is filling in. This is what I have so far:

Wednesday, July 27 - 7:30 PM meet bseller in the lobby of the Sheraton Gateway Suites. Have dinner at Zia's with him, ElmhurstNick and Sweet Willie. There may be a bottle of single malt Scotch in my room afterwards.

Thursday, July 28 - meet the regular Thursday lunchers at Flat Top at 11:45 AM. I have to be in West Chicago from 4 PM on.

Friday, July 29 - watch the Cubbies beat Arizona at Wrigley. Game starts at 2:20 and ends approximately 6 PM. Pretty much wide open after that.

Saturday, July 30 - Vespers at St. George in Cicero, Illinois at 5:30 PM. Dinner with meducate and cawhite60156 (others?) at Morton's Chicago at 7:30 PM.

Sunday, July 31 - Orthros and Divine Liturgy at 8 AM at All Saints in Chicago. My flight leaves around 7:30 PM.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Sincerely,

So we're four for dinner, right?

Anybody else??

Zia's - 6699 Northwest Highway.

I'm leaving the office now but making a couple of stops on the way so I'll be there right around 7:30.

I had a great time, although I felt that the main course chicken dish that I had wasn't up to Zia's usual standards.

And the gifts have already been put to good use.

Well, despite what I originally thought, I was able to get online...although I'm not going anywhere near the Starwood forum. Also, at 60 cents a minute here at the Sheraton's business center, I'm not too sure how many times I'll come back to check this thread, so here goes for now...

Had a great time at Zia's with ElmhurstNick, Sweet Willie, bseller, and our surprise guests. Also a terrific lunch at Flat Top with the regular lunch gang. The trip to the far west suburbs was also interesting, if unfruitful. Made it downtown today at 1:30 thinking, okay the Cubs play at 2:20 so if I hurry...well, stupid me for not noticing it was 2:20 Eastern time that Yahoo was referring to. So, now I have a ticket for Sunday afternoon. I did watch the game on tv and it was a terrific come-from-behind-in-the-bottom-of-the-9th win for the Cubbies. ^

I'm pretty much going to relax this evening, I think. If someone wants to come by the Sheraton downtown and chat, call me from the lobby. Tomorrow I'm thinking about doing a sightseeing boat cruise, vespers at St. George, dinner with meducate and cawhite, and then thought I'd go down to the Shedd Aquarium to watch the floats and fireworks for Venice Night...unless of course someone is up for a poker game. We talked about that briefly at lunch on Thursday at Flat Top, but someone would have to provide the poker chips.

William
