Would be good to see Freddie Jr. in Europe again. As aviationkiwi is a confirmed attendee of the Yodeldee-Do, that would be an opportunity for him to pass the little man on to somebody else.

I could get Freddie to Sana'a and Abu Dhabi sometime from September to December. Any chance to get Freddie into MUC before?

Yes, definitely. Freddie is currently scheduled to be at the Zurich DO from September 21st to 23rd. We have several MUC-based FTers coming, so perhaps we can ask one of them to give Freddie a ride over. When exactly are your trips to Yemen and Abu Dhabi?

Yes, I'd say there's definitely a chance. Depends what else ends up on his schedule, but I'll be glad to take him to Boca if I can.

BTW, has Freddie ever been to Madrid? If not, that would at least be a first for him.

Last time I saw him (in Edinburgh), he was no longer actively wearing the button, but it was in the bag along with a few tags that had been taken off so that he wasn't quite as prone to falling over. We'll make sure to rectify that before the PBI-FLL meet begins.

Was Freddie falling over in Edinburgh because of the tags or because he had indulged in too much Scotch? :D

Ramadan ends after October 13th. After that date I will be travelling again to the Middle East a lot.
Will be in Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Yemen for sure until the end of the year.

My current plan is to take him back to Europe from Florida in October and then figure out how to get him to you in Munich.

Now that there are some Flyertalkers on the First SQ A380 flight Oct 25, is there anyway we can get Freddie JR this plane as well.

If Freddie can make it back to USA after the A380 inaugural I would like to give him a ride on the the UA952/953 inaugural (IAD-FRA-IAD) Oct 28-30, 2007.

Too many inaugurals at about the same time, the A380 is most important, Freddie, Jr must be on that flight.

You would have to come to the PBI-FLL Meet. We have him tied up for that one -- at a minimum for the night of Oct 27.

Maybe there will be attending leaving the PBI-FLL Do that I can meet at IAD. There will be a UA952 Inaugural Do the evening of Oct 28. UA952 leaves IAD for FRA at 19:22, Oct 29, 2007.

I think Freddie would love that itinerary!

Ft'er "Koko" who happens to be from ORD will be on the A380 inaugural SIN-SYD 25102007 (as will I).

Perhaps Koko could deliver Freddie Jr to SIN? A flood of PM's might do the trick ;)

Freddie Jnr is in Scotland at present and has enjoyed really good weather and glorious scenery in the Scottish Highlands. :)

The A380 inaugural will be such an important part of airline history. It will be a shame for him not to be on it. If no one can get him to SIN I will let someone use my Fedex account to ship him to SIN.

I have a confirmed seat on a AF A380 testflight :cool: from YUL to CDG on Nov15th.
It would be great if Freddie could fly with me. I could take him at Mod DO in PHX on Nov 3rd if someone can bring him over from PBI ?

I'll be honored to pick up Freddie Jr. from braefoot at the PBI/FLL Meet on 10/27, transport him back to ONT on 10/29 and bring him to the Mod Do in PHX on 11/3.

He'll be taking a rare auto trip from ONT to PHX because it's only a 350 mile drive and we're breaking in a new car. But we'll make sure he's firmly seat-belted in and has his own window seat for the trip.

There are going to be a lot of people who will want Freddie Jr at their meets. May I suggest that one person make the decision on his schedule -- not only for this time but on a permanent basis?

I think that alex0683de, who has been keeping track of Freddie's flights, or one of the Community Buzz moderators, should be that person.

Certainly it should be the the mods who should decide who it will be.

I agree and I assumed the change of plans had already been cleared.

I really don't think that is necessary nor do I think it should fall to rest on one person's shoulders. As you have already stated, he can't make it to everything and people will just have to understand that. His ability to make it to places is entirely dependent of people's schedules and their willingness to transport him. Making a request here is a good start but never a guarantee.

The question is whether there is anybody who can clear it. If not, we are very liable to face some disputes (not only now but in the future as well).

Did boxo even post here to request him? I think that is always a good start since this thread is the main place where his travels are arranged.

I actually pointed boxo to this thread and advised a PM to chrissxbto clear things. I don't know if my suggestions were taken up.
I go along with Dovster's excellent suggestion that alex0683de should monitor freddie jnr's whereabouts and have the final decision on where he goes.

Freddie Jr was offered up in another thread, I raised my hand since I was meeting FTers in NYC and the southern-most DO but didn't realize the necessary protocol.

Honestly though, things seem to have worked fine for many, many years without the need for micro-management.

Thank you Dovster and braefoot for your votes of confidence, but I am not sure I want that responsibility (or that much potential to piss people off).

I do agree with tazi that Freddie has always managed to find his way without much interference, but I will allow that things have gotten a bit more complicated in recent years as the FlyerTalk community has grown.

There are so many great experiences FlyerTalk members are partaking of that it would be impossible for Freddie to make it to them all. Personally, I think the path that Freddie's Travels should follow is the path of the most miles, or of the most exotic destination(s). Priority should go to the most far-flung destination for which we have volunteers for both an outbound and a return path. While I would be thrilled if Freddie got a chance to visit Timbuktu or Antarctica, I want to be certain that he has a ticket back to civilisation and to the next FlyerTalk gathering, or FlyerTalk member, within a reasonable timeframe.

In my humble opinion, this is the standard the person or persons responsible for his itinerary (be it the moderators, a specific member, or the FT membership at large) should adhere to. The main idea has to be to keep this FlyerTalk icon moving, so that as many members as possible get to enjoy the award that was once presented to all of us.

If it can be worked out for him to attend ZQN, great. 9-11 Nov. (leave SFO 6 Nov) cpx will arrive back to NYC on the 13th, I believe. I don't know who else at ZQN could take him back in the right direction. As long as Freddie Jr doesn't mind UA's F Suites...

I can't imagine that anyone would. The way it has been working (my perception and experiences), is that unless someone makes a request here and folks are able to figure out a way to make the request happen, the person presently in possession of Freddie decides who gets him next.

He does have one date every year set in stone though, and that is the Freddie's. And perhaps the Brooklyn Reality tour as well. :)

with all that debate here... if Freddie Jr. can make this A380testflight, which would be an exceptional occasion - good. if he can't make it ... thats fine with me either. :) so I get it'll be a surprise for me when I meet cholula at PHX

I just pointed out in the other thread (PBI meet) thread Freddie Jr. arrangements had to follow the procedure and therefor should be made in this thread.
and I agree with tazi and others here - we don't need a policy for what worked fine for years ... if you want to have Freddie Jr. at your event or flight - just post in this thread and think about a way how you could get him.

No surprise as I successfully picked up Freddie Jr. from braefoot at tonight’s PBI/FLL Meet.

And I must say that Freddie Jr. looks very spiffy in his new zebra-striped carrying case. :)

Fri., 11/2/07: ONT/PHX on what will be a rare road trip for Freddie, Jr.
