ready for the BRT.

If anyone can think of another way to get Freddie to MEL,
we can certainly ride back to ORD together on May 28.

Well, now that we've got an option for the return from OzFest, does anyone have another idea how we could get him from the BRT to Australia?

I hear Freddie hasn't missed an OzFest yet, it would be a shame if he couldn't make this one.

nor4 has offered to take FJ to OzFest. It would be terrific if this can be arranged. :D

Great Stuff nor4; it would be terrific if this could be organized.

Freddy made it to OzFest II but was missed last year :( (went to Bali IIRC.)

NYC to DC

If we can get the little feller from NYC to DC by 5/22, I'll be happy to have him join me in 15H (hey who's got 15A on UA839 on 5/23? That's MY seat:p )
for the trip down. I'm waitlisted for F, so the better champagne if we clear the UG waitlist.^

I'll be leaving IAD around noon on 5/23 so probably have to make the handoff on 5/22 unless it's at the airport.

Changed; looks like we found a helpful Flyertalker to get Freddie Jr downunder.

Thanks Alysia;

Fast response; wow;

Has anyone spoken with Alysia? I'll be happy to do it.

If she can't take him, and I can't see why she couldn't, I mentioned to dhammer that maybe he could FedEx it to Fla. and I'd have him ride shotgun with me in my car to CVG.

I know Freddie Jr.has had to endure Fedex before, including last year having been recovered from his kidnapping, but I would hate to see it become the norm just to get him to a DO. It is so much more in the spirit of things to have him handed off naturally. I know this means that he will miss some events but he is a popular fellow and just can't make it to them all. There is always a next time. :)

Alysia to nor4

I got a PM from Alysia and she'll hand off Freddie to me early next week. So no need to arrange anything BundyBear. Thanks.

Simplify, simplify

In the spirit of keeping things simple, Alysia has offered to take Freddie from DC to CVG for the Delta DO. So I'll just hand him back to her after the OzFest.

FYI, Freddie will be adding 12,763X2 miles for this jaunt. That's 25,526 for a long weekend. ^ Too bad he doesn't get the premium for flying C.:p

Undertood, and it does seem to have worked out anyway, without a FedEx ride.

I just thought he'd rather endure a very short flight with FedEx than be bored to death sitting somewhere getting fat eating potato chips and watching soaps all day. :)

Be sure and stash a slice from Spumoni Gardens on him somehow :D

btw, I have several new pictures of Freddie Jr. and will try to post them tomorrow.

Has Freddie Jr. ever been to Budapest?

If not, is there some way we can get him to Europe by early July for The DO on the DANUBE?

BTW, I have gone back and updated Freddie's flight map - it's starting to fill in nicely. I managed to find 95% of his first one-and-a-half years of travelling the world by reading though old threads about him.

I also found references to a number of people who have travelled with him over the years. I'll be PMing them soon to try to fill in some more blanks.

If anyone reading this has travelled with Freddie and would like to get their flights added to the map, please PM me with the details and I'll enter them straightaway. :)

I'm not volunteering anyone (& haven't PM'ed anyone re. willingness to transport Freddie Jr), but the best chance I see of getting FJ to the DO on the Danube is:
aviationkiwi (CVG, Lounge Do - NYC, NY Gayla)
jannis (NYC, Gayla - 'home' / Berlin, Germany)

Surely someone can get Freddie from Berlin to Budapest....
Does anyone see a better route?

Back from Ozfest IV

Freddie, Jr. is back from MEL and Ozfest IV. I handed him over to Alysia at lunch today. He's now off to the Delta Lounge DO in CVG this weekend.

There will be pictures of him in MEL and out carousing at one of the vineyards we visited on the Ozfest thread.

If you can get this to work, I'll volunteer to pick up Freddie in Berlin. I need to be there shortly before BUD anyway, I'm sure I can work something out with jannis if he's willing to give Freddie a ride across the pond.

Good to know the little guy's keeping busy. His flight map has already been updated with his latest Oz adventure - check it out at http://my.flightmemory.com/freddiejr.
