I will likely be up there early watching football myself. :D I've got brunch in Frisco at 10 am but after that, I doubt I'll have much time to go do studio work so I'll likely just shop and head to Champps!

(I'm still working on rounding up a few other DFW folks... looks like this might be our biggest outing yet short of the PIM!)

And platbrown... if I weren't in San Diego until Friday, I would totally be a taker on the Texas Hold Em' game... but you might not like a girl taking the whole pot. ;)

I really wanted to be there and had planned on being in Dallas this weekend. Well I realized on Monday that Friday was my girlfriend's birthday, so I am leaving for Denver today. Won't be back till Tuesday. The group and Champs sounded perfect. I hope to get with you guys next month. Have a great time.

Just a thought...

Sam

Well, the line last week was something like San Diego -9, and look how that turned out. :)

As fate would have it, my %(%!@%$$# satellite busted today, and they can't fix it before Sunday, so with no TV at casa de swag, I guess I'll be at Champps by kickoff.

I'd pay good money to see that. ;)

You're more than welcome to - next Thursday, 8pm ;).

Pot got to $220... my friend Brian who's normally dead money ended up winning $160 of it  .

Your Thursday poker game wouldn't happen to be the weekly YAP poker game, would it? If so, my friend Larry has been trying to get me to that one on Thursday nights for several weeks now!

There is no such thing as too many gatherings though... I would suggest posting a separate thread for a lunch on the 14th... you will probably get a few takers.

I'll make it one of these days. Or follow your lunch-posting-advice on a future trip to DFW. But this trip, I was so busy I only dreamt of lunch. Have a nice meet tomorrow!

Hi everyone,

I've already reserved the necessary space for us at 4:00 P.M., in the indoor patio, with separate checks. It's listed under FlyerTalk, and my handle (Studley). Ask for either, and the staff will bring you to the table. :)

The manager set up a table for 20, because he "would rather have enough froom for everyone than not have enough room." How cool is that? It's the first time I've heard a restaurant manager be so proactive.

This will definitely make this place worth returning to another time. ^

I'll probably also be there early.

Not familiar with 'YAP', but I do play at PC's club and at Jackie's Red Man Club from time to time, usually pot limit cash games though. Last night's game was just a friendly one at my place.

See y'all tomorrow, 4 or 4:30ish.

Got my TV fixed, so I'll probably watch the 1st half at home, then head over. See you around 5, and save me a seat facing the TV.

I'm probably the only Ft. Worth freak here, but I saw signs today indicating the ramp from 35W to 121 is closed. So if anyone is going from my direction, can't go that way... ;)

platbrownguy Jan 15, 2005 7:56 pm

Yeah, I feel stupid.

I went to take a nap around 2:30, and woke up at 7:00  .

I guess I'll see you people next time.

I just returned from our latest meeting. It was great getting together with the regular group, 3ata, techgirl, Sam - DFW (we enjoyed meeting your guest as well), and swag. And a hearty welcome to dan1431, who was visiting from out-of town (but will be considered as an honorary DFW member, if he wishes :)), and empedocles (your master plan of bringing your wife, another "techgirl", worked! ;)). It was very nice meeting the three of you. :)

platbrownguy - you'll get another opportunity next month. djev and DallasBill - we also missed having you join us this time, but we hope to see you in the future, and we hope to see more of you as well.

Sam will organize the February gathering, and empedocles and his wife have volunteered to organize the March gathering.

Thanks, that EWR flight got delayed as much as I tried to hope and work against such a thing...

When and where is February?

DallasBill Jan 17, 2005 8:31 pm

So sorry....

Sorry I missed this, and with no warning either! My wife and I are building a new home near White Rock Lake and I was tied up w/ finalizing appliances and fixtures all weekend.

Instead, I should have suggested a meet at the Starbucks at The Great Indoors... or was that at Expo Design Center or...?!?!

So close... yet sooooooo far.

Next time... :)
