Hmm...as I look my hotel's website map of where it is, and the Orto del Medici's website map of where that hotel is, it looks like they're practially just around the corner from each other, and maybe a block or so apart. So, yes, that might be an excellent option....lets me drop off my stuff at mine then swing over to yours. Am printing up both maps and will have them handy Thursday!!!

It is a long an tiring trip......having just done it over 24 hours I know.....
I am not sure Thursday night "event" such a good idea after all.......and it is very difficult to coordinate....
I am going to see Giacomo tomorrow (Thurs) am.....then, aside from Sat night, I am turning this over to the Radiocycles...who started this thread.....
BTW, the 4 Leoni NEAT! Saw it an hour ago.... Our Sat pm should be fabulous!
Our rooftop terrace is a 3 story walk up.....is this a problem for anyone?

No problems for me with the walk up, but would be glad to alter plans accordingly if needed for anyone. Just found out from Radiocycle that the Vatican is clsoed on Thursday, for some Vatican holiday. I've already "done" Rome, so that was really the major thing I wanted to see there. Since my Eurostar reservation is change-able, I might consider taking an earlier ride up to Firenze, then...we'll see when I get to Rome.
Might be a good idea for Thursday arrivals to just relax, settle in, etc. Might be up for drinks or a late snack if anyone is interested, since our hotels are all so close.
Am at the AAdmirals Club in ORD, with another hour or so before flight to Rome.
I hope all are/have enjoying/'enjoyed smooth travels! Can't wait to meet everyone in Firenze!!

I just got home from SIN. Had a great time, but man, was it Hot! I had packed for my BOS, SIN, and FLR trips in case I was delayed on my return from SIN. Actually, I got home early from SIN so I'm doing laundry now.

It was rough to pack for all 3 trips with different climates - very hot in SIN, and cool, possibly rainy in BOS and FLR. I was worried that I might have to check my rollaboard and wonder if it would arrive with me. TSA in TPA on my outbound for BOS made me put the bag in size-wise, and was very surprised when it fit. No one made me weigh it. :D

I'm on schedule to arrive by train on Friday afternoon. Ciao, baby!

Both Mrs RC and I are having the time of our life here in Florence. On Saturday we are going on a bicycle tour of Tuscany with scheduled stops for wine tastings and Olive Oil Tastings before returning back.

I am living vicariously through all of you. Sounds as if Florence is glorious and that you have a wonderful, convivial group. Poor me, I just have to sit here and figure out what to wear to Marco and Elena's wedding next month :rolleyes:

O2K, wish you were here too! Dorlee and Leonard have moved over to my hotel, Palazzo Magnani Feroni and have a HUGE 1 bedroom suite next door to me.....
Weather is warm, sunny and delicious...had a nice dinner on Thursday night with Radiocycle, Mrs. Radiocycle, Skye 1, Dorlee and Leonard...toasted the to be new Petersons and ate fab pasta...
Lots of museums, shopping, walking til feet scream but so what.....
Tonight the Palazzo is having a small wine and canapes up on the terrace overlooking the city followed by a many course dinner at 4 Leoni which is just up the street....we have NO CHOLULA SAUCE THOUGH!!!
Do is Do-ing well.....we are not overprogrammed, mercifully...

Cycling through Tuscony and Wine-Olive Oil Tasting
 

I just got back from a full day of cycling (and walking) through the countryside in Tuscany with a stop for a 4 course Tuscan Lunch, Chianti, and Expreso before a stop at the Fattorio Montereggi Vineyard and Olive Oil processing plant.

We had several wine tastings and an olive oil tasting.

Tonight drinks and hors doevres at dede's rooftop hotel bar and then a florentine dinner.
