Flyertalk DO of Death - Boston Oct 16th
I just had a great idea for a Death-Defying DO. Let's gather at Fenway on the 16th , dress up in Yankees gear, get sloppy drunk (yes I know sloppy drunk and Flyertalk DO's are redundant), and either scam our way in or hang out in front of Fenway.
I have to fly into BOS on the 16th for a conference anyway, so I'm going to do this even if the rest of you are too chicken.
P.S., I'm not a Yankee fan. I just like to make fun of Red Sox fans.

I'll be at the LAX RCC at oh-dawn-hundred on the 17th, so I will glue myself to CNN on the telly to read of the 'death' toll. Good luck Stimpy!

I've always found it easier to respect fans of other teams, especially the fans of teams like the Red Sox, and even the Cubs. In any event, were something untoward to happen to you I am sure they will not miss you at VON.

Uh, I would take the above as a transpac won't be joining you stimpy
. I'll still check CNN at LAX RCC morning of the 17th. Personally I've never understood why anyone cared about baseball at all; to me it's like watching paint dry, but that's a dif topic for a dif thread
. Cheers. Sharon

I have to admit I have never really understood the concept of making fun of someone else, or the fans of another team. It sounds as though you find it rewarding? I've always found it easier to respect fans of other teams, especially the fans of teams like the Red Sox, and even the Cubs.

Actual quote from nypost.com:
Ultimate Baseball Armageddon!!!!
The victory creates Ultimate Baseball Armageddon for the second straight October with the Red Sox in the ALCS that will decide the AL's World Series representative. Game 1 between the blood rivals is Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.

When you go, wear those new T-shirts...
"Hey Red Sox, who's Your Daddy?" complete with baby passifier. Double click the enlarge to see the RS B logo imbedded sideways in the passifier. :-:

Stimpy,
I sure hope you can take care of yourself in a fight, because if you're in the bleachers you might just find yourself in one. Wearing the clothes is one thing, acting like a jerk is another. If you stay on the street, I can all but guarantee you'll get jumped by some of the morons that hang around Fenway when they can't get in.
Go Sox!

rob2507, that was the whole point. Good natured rubbing followed by a brief fist-fight.
Hopefully no knives.
And Transpac, that was probably the most disappointing post I've ever read here. Not so much the complete lack of humor, but the personal attack was quite unwarranted IMHO. Shame.

I might just wander over to the Fenway myself to watch the chaos. Actually I have to be in the area anyway to see about ordering a cake from the nearby Coldstone Creamery, might be fun to take a peek around the stadium too. Dreading the idea of trying to get on the T around game times though.

Now stimpy, if I see you there and you're losing your fight, do I help a fellow FT'er, or let a Yankee fan take a few lumps? Decisions, decisions...
Anyway, due to pressure from the Boston Dirt Dogs website, MLB has pulled the 'daddy' shirts until they can come up with something just as derogatory towards the Yankess for Sox fans to buy.
(Anyone else missing Omni right about now?)
