Anyway, due to pressure from the Boston Dirt Dogs website, MLB has pulled the 'daddy' shirts until they can come up with something just as derogatory towards the Yankess for Sox fans to buy.
(Anyone else missing Omni right about now?)

I'm a Yankee fan, and I actually have a lot of respect for Red Sox fans. I've been to many stadiums, and the fans at Fenway are among the most knowledgeable I've seen. What I don't get on both sides is the "Yankees/RS s*ck" chants. It's clearly not true in both cases. I also don't think we need people on either side stirring up trouble around drunk people. Nothing good can come from that. I think it's going to be a great series (Yanks in 6). Btw, if you're going to be in Boston, I was in Mass last weekend, and saw a story on tv about a loud Yankees fan bartender at Boston Beer Works (across from Fenway). Based on what the reporter said, he doesn't get many tips.
It might be more fun to look him up than to get beaten up.

The part I bolded is out of line. Get over yourself and apologize as you broke the TOS.

Please accept my apologies Stimpy.
I meant to write that you will be missed at VON. That is, if you were to get into trouble Im sure the VON people would be looking for you.
So that sentence should have read:
In any event, were something untoward to happen to you I am sure they will miss you at VON.
I am not sure what I started to write, maybe something about not getting in to too much trouble? Clearly I did not review my post properly.
As for the respect issue, I did not advocate showing less respect for Yankee fans.
Enjoy your time in Boston, Kenmore Square and Fenway Park.

stimpy,
My late father-in-law attended the Yankee-Met World Series a few years back with my wife. He was a Mets fan. The game was at Yankee Stadium. He was wearing a NY Mets shirt.
I have to tell you that there's always a small percentage of fans that will show you no mercy if you're wearing the oppossing team colors.
My father-in-law said it was ok for a while; but after the 3rd inning, the real a$$holes started rearing their ugly heads. And this was an 80 year old man they were going after.
So if you're intent on wearing pinstripes in Beantown, goodluck.
Tell us how it turns out.

First off, apology accepted transpac.
Secondly, if no one else has the guts to join me, then I may have to adjust my scheme. Perhaps I'll wear a White Sox jersey since I am from Chicago. Or a Cubs hat maybe? They still won't like me, but they certainly don't hate the White Sox like they hate the Yankees. I wore my White Sox jersey for a 3 game series at Fenway a couple of years ago and didn't get into any fights.
Third, Dan I can give as well as I can get. Those arseholes don't worry me, in fact that's what makes it fun. Now if the Red Sox are losing 10-0 in the 7th, I'm not going to lord it over them or anything. That would be rude.
Either way, I can't see sitting in a hotel while such a great series is happening a subway ride away. Jet lag or no jet lag, ticket or no ticket, I'll be there.

Stimpster, you KNOW I am always up for getting the piss kicked out of me by rednecks with a different accent, but 1) I'd have to wear Senators/Nationals/Whatever gear, and 2) I have to be in Richmond that day.
BTW, in the interest of equal time, do you plan to do similar in the Bronx? Those rednecks talk funny, too, but in a different way...

Koko, I have to be in Paris on the 16th, but I'm going to fly to Boston after my meeting. Don't they have planes or trains in Richmond? Isn't D.C. like right next door to Boston?
Anyhow I'd love to do the same in NYC, but I have meetings in France this week that I can't get out of. Also I get the feeling that Yankee stadium has too many yuppies that won't want to start trouble. Whereas Fenway...

Well I flew LYS-CDG-BOS yesterday on AF where I scored an op-up to biz.
Great flight! I checked into my hotel and made my way to Fenway. I arrived at 5pm, drank for a few hours while trying quite unsuccessfully to find both a ticket and a Yankee jersey for sale. I did see several people wearing Yankee jerseys though. And no fights. The atmosphere was fantastic before the game. Even though there were no fights, somehow I was half covered in beer as the pre-game celebration was pretty wild. Most every bar had dozens or over a hundred in line by 7pm. But I found the back door of Who's on First was an easy entry.
All the Red Sox fans ignored the obvious (they were overmatched) and lived for the moment. That was great. A lot of people were amazed that I flew in from France for the game. But for some reason no one talked much about baseball. We were all caught up in the moment of just being there.
As the game started, ticketless I headed back to my hotel. It was 2am in France and I was bushed. Waking up now, I see the Yankees destroyed the Red Sox so I'm glad I didn't stay for the funeral. I'm told the Yankees are staying at my hotel. Maybe I'll see some smiling faces at breakfast this morning.

Went to last night's game - hold the funeral off for at least one more night. I think the yankees stayed at the fourseasons or the new ritz (more likely there) as I saw their buses come up Comm Ave past my place on sat night as I was going to landsdowe to meet friends. Sorry I forgot about this thread as I met (hard to believe) both sox and yankee fans out.

I have a friend who is a Yankee fan who wants me to stay for the World Series as she has tickets for game one. She cannot concieve that the Yankees might not be in the Series.
